"Although Catherine Herr, Nov. 19, 1727-May 9,1781, is not mentioned in Isaac Herr's will, some researchers think that she may also be a daughter. She was married three times: (1) Jacob Eshleman, July 4, 1707-Feb. 16, 1758; (2) "Swamp John" Groff, March 1731-April 1776/7; and (3) Benjamin Groff, Jan. 18, 1727-July 10, 1803. John and Benjamin Groff were both sons of Jacob and Barbara (Brackbill) Groff." [1]

John Groff, the son of Jacob Groff and Barbara Brackbill, married first Anne Herr and then Catherine Herr, widow of Catherine Herr Eshleman. After John's death, his brother Benjamin then his widow, Catherine Herr-Eshleman-Groff. [3]
