1750 Michael Ketch, son of Michael Ketch deceased, being upwards of seventeen years, comes into (Lancaster Orphan's) court and chuses George Michael Weis to be his guardian. Elizabeth Ketch, one of the daughters of Michael Ketch, chuses Jacob Weis guardian. George Michael Weis and Jacob Weis appointed guardians over Sophia and Martin Ketch, minor and orphan children of Michael Ketch. [1]

1750 Michael Weis and Jacob Weis were taxed in Cocalico Twp, Lancaster County. [2]

1751 George Michael Wise surveyed 140 acres of land in Cocalico Twp, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, on November 19. It was Down Middle Creek and was adjacent to land of George's brother Jacob Wise, Adam Uland, Urigh Pence, and Teeter Fainestock and was on Middle (Cocalico) Creek. [3] [4] A patent for the land was dated January 27, 1762. [5]

1752 Felix Weiss, son of George Michael and Christine Wise, was born on October 22 and was baptized on October 29, by Rev John Waldschmidt in Cocalico, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, with sponsors Feliz Schuetz and wife Veronica. [6]

1752 Christina Weber, daughter of Johan Gorg & wife Maria Elisabetha was born on July 30, 1752. She was baptized on September 3, 1752, with sponsors Gorg Michael Weiss & wife Christina. [7]

1753 Christine, daughter of John Christian Mumma and wife Anna Maria, was baptized on September 24, 1753 with sponsors George Weiss and wife Christine. [8]

1754 "Orphans' Court held at Lancaster for the County of Lancaster, the third day of September 1754. Before Emanuel Carpenter, Adam Simon Kuhn, James Smith, Robert Thompson, William Jevon, Esqrs. Justices. ... Upon the Petition of Jacob Wise, eldest Son of Jacob Wise, deceased (who died intestate) Praying that he may be permitted to hold and enjoy a certain tract of land late of the said Jacob Wise, deceased, situate in the Township of Cocolico containing 140 acres, he paying the respective shares of the other heirs according to valuation made by Martin Weidman, Michael Feasor, Valentine Hercleroadt and John Shutz. The heirs being Barbara Wise, the Widow, George Michael Wise the other Son of the said Intestate, Martin Widdle and Elizabeth his Wife, one of the Daughters of said Intestate, Susanna Wise, another Daughter, and to the Children of Catharine, another Daughter of said Intestate, now deceased, by her two Husbands Michael Kitch and John Berger, that is to say, Michael, Elizabeth, Sophia and Martin Kitch, and Anna, Barbara, Leonora, Margaret and Catharine Berger, or to their heirs." 1754 Leonard Mummer and George Michael Wise were appointed guardians, on December 30, over John Mummer, an orphan and minor son of Christian Mummer, deceased at the Lancaster Orphans' Court. [11]

1755 George Michael Wise was chosen as guardian for Abraham and Elizabeth Frances, children of late Balser Francis, on March 5, at the Lancaster County Orphans' Court. [12]

1755 Leonard Mummer and Michael Wise, representative of Margaret Mummer, late Zimmerman, were named in the estate settlement of Nicholas Zimmerman, on March 5. [13]

1756 Christine, daughter of Conrad and Catharine Heilberger, was baptized on March 6, with sponsors George Michael Weiss and Christine Weiss. [14]

1756 George Michael Wise witnessed a deed, on April 9, regarding the heirs of Baltzer Francis. Elizabeth and Michael Kitsch signed the document. [15] This apparently voids Lancaster deed H-96 in which Abraham Frances sold land to Jacob Erbe. [16] [17] [18]. Land of Henry Landis, John Andreas, and Jacob Weiss.

1756 Ge. Michael Weis was taxed for 100 acres, 15 acres winter grain, 2 horses, 1 mares, 3 cows, and 4 sheep, in Cocalico Twp, Lancaster County. [19] [20]

1757 George Michael Weis was taxed in Cocalico Twp, Lancaster County. [21] [22]

1757 Christina Heilberger, daughter of Conrad & Catharina was baptized on February 4, 1757 with sponsors George Michael Weiss and wife Christina. [23]

1758 Michael Weis was taxed for 100 acres in Cocalico Twp, Lancaster County. [24] [25]

1758 George Michael Weiss and Jacob Senseney witnessed a deed, on December 6, between Jacob and Sophia Weiss; late of Cocalico Twp, Lancaster County, now of Montgomery Twp, Berks County; with Daniel Bollinger of Cocalico Twp. [26]

1760 Michael Wise and George Mumma were apointed administrators on September 2, of Christian Mumma, deceased. [27]

1761 George Michael Weiss, from Cocalico, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, was naturalized on April 11, in Pennsylvania. [28] [29] [30] [31]

1761 Daughter Margretha Catherina, was born on March 29 and was baptized on April 15, with sponsors John Jacob Bullinger and wife Anna Maria. Notes of Rev John Waldschmidt in Cocalico. [32] On the same day, George Michael and Christine Wise [Weiss] were sponsors at the baptism of Christian Bullinger to Jacob and Anna Maria Bullinger. [33]

1761 Christian Bullinger, son of Jacob & Anna Maria, was born on February 28, 1761, with sponsors Gorg Michael Weiss & w. Christina [34]

1762 George Michael Weise warranted, on January 19, and patented, on January 27, 1762, 140 acres in Cocalico Twp, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. The land was adjacent to land of brother Jacob Weiss. [35] [36] [37] [38] [39] A land warrant named Jacob Weise father of two sons, Jacob and George Michael. Jacob Senior had warranted the land on January 4, 1733 and then divided the 240 acres on Cocalico (Middle) Creek between the two sons. The division had been recorded in the Orphans Court 1752-54. [40]

1762 John Herclerodt, minor child of John Herclerodt, deceased, chose George Michael Weiss, of Cocalico Twp, Lancaster County, as guardian on March 2. [41]

1767 George Michael Wise was granted a patent for a tract of 84 acres named 'Crecy' in Heidelberg Twp, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania (incorrectly listed in Berks County, Pennsylvania), on July 8. The tract had been warranted by Jost Hoffman on June 13, 1750. The land was next to land of John Swoop, Christopher Stump, and George Deitrich. [42] [43] [44]

1767 George Michael Wise, perhaps this George, received a patent, dated July 8, 1762, for 331 acres in Heidelberg Twp, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania (incorrectly listed in Tulpehocken Twp, Berks County, Pennsylvania). The tract had been warranted by Michael Sheffer on January 9, 1737. The tract was named 'Hatfield'. The land was next to land of Bartell Sheffer. On a 1754 survey, the land was shown as belonging to Rudy Bullinger and was next to land of Bernard Mouse and Jacob Fulke. [45] [46] [47] [48]

1767 George Michael Weiss and wife Christiana of Cocalico Twp sold land to Abraham France, on October 17. The land had been patented by George Michael in 1762. The land was next to land of Daniel Bollinger (previously owned by Jacob Weise), Abraham Uhland, and Ulrey Pence. Witnessed by George Groff and Winkler. [49] Another tract was sold to Daniel Bollinger. Witnessed by Hans Groff and Andrass Weissler. [50]

1768 Abraham Weiss, child of George Michael Weiss and Christina Weiss, was born on January 9. He was baptized, on February 7, 1768, in Bethany United Church of Christ, Ephrata Twp, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Abraham Doerr and wife Magdalene were sponsors. [51]

1771 George Michael Weiss and wife Christina of Heidelberg Twp, Lancaster County, sold land to Frederick Keller, on January 19. The land had been patented to George Michael Wise on July 8, 1767, and was mistakenly described as being in Berks County. One tract was next to land of Bartle Shaffer and the other tract was next to land of Yohn Swoop, Christopher Stump, and George Smith. Witnesses: Elias Wolf and Jacob Zug. [52]

1775 Richard Steel and wife Martha of Hamilton Twp, Cumberland County granted 200 acres in Allen Twp, Cumberland County to George Michael Weiss, farmer, of Lancaster County. The deed was dated on May 20. [53] Adjacent tracts were owned by William Hudson, Rev George Duffield, Thomas Hammersly, James Long, and Rev. Richard Peters, Part of a tract patented on April 18, 1774, to Rev. Richard Peters. Witnessed by William Trimble and Matthew Henderson. [54]

1775 Records of the Lancaster County Orphans' Court mentioned, on September 6, John Hoover, deceased; late of Lebanon Twp, Lancaster County; regarding Elizabeth (late widow of of John Hoover) now the wife of George Michael Weiss. [55]

1776 Nathaniel Torbet sold land to Jacob Wise, both of Allen Twp, Cumberland County, on January 17. The 102 acres of land was adjacent to lands of John McNeale, John Knows, Jacob Wise the grantee, Samuel Smith, John Brindle, Jacob Crisher. The land was part of a tract of 252 acres that Rev. Richard Peters had sold to Nathanniel Torbet on June 28, 1775. [56]

1777 Jacob Weiss and wife Anna sold land to Feolix Wise, farmer, of Allen Twp, Cumberland County, on May 10. The tract was part of a larger tract, of 252 acres, sold to Nathaniel Turbet by Richard Peters on June 28, 1775. The larger tract was adjacent to other land of Jacob Wies. On January 17, 1776, Nathaniel Turbet sold 102 acres of the land to Jacob Weis by Cumberland County Deed D-524. On May 9, 1777, George Michael Weis, the father of the said Jacob and Felix, sold to Jacob, "200 acres situate in Allen Township aforsaid of which 200 acres the small tract bounded by the following lines is a part ... containing 50 acres ... [57]

1777 George Michael Weiss took the oath or affirmation of allegiance and fidelity, on September 27, at Lebanon, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. [58]

1777 Jacob Wise and his wife Anna Agness [George Michael Wise's son] purchased 50 acres of land, in Allen Twp, from George Michael Wise and wife Elizabeth, on May 9. George Michael Wise had purchased the land from Richard Steele on May 20, 1775 by Deed D-325. [59]

1792 John Mohler and wife Ann purchased land in Cocalico Twp, Lancaster County, from Peter Bollinger that Daniel Bollinger had purchased from Jacob and George Michael Weiss and their wives Sophia and Christina. Peter Bollinger and Ann Mohler were the two children and heirs of Daniel Bollinger. Jacob Weiss and wife Sophia had sold one tract to Daniel Bollinger on December 6, 1758 (Lancaster Deed K-56), which Jacob had patented (Patent A19-163) based on the warrant of Jacob Wise Sr, dated December 13, 1753. George Michael Weiss and wife Christina had sold two tracts, containing together 71 acres, to Daniel Bollinger on October 16, 1767 (Lancaster Deed O-383); which George Michael had patented (Patent AA2-479) on January 27, 1762.
