"Dr Thomas Page, son of Dr William Page, was born at Cross Roads, Burlington County, New Jersey, June 8th 1798. After having received a liberal education, he studied Medicine with Dr Joseph Parrish of Philadelphia and graduated at the University of Pennsylvania in the spring of 1821. Soon after graduating, he entered into partnership with his father in a large and extended practice over a populous district of country that taxed the powers of endurance of both father and son to the utmost. The partnership continued about twelve years, when it was dissolved owing to the failing health of the son, who removed to Tuckerton in the same county, and engaged in mercantile pursuits in connection with the limited practice of his profession. He continued the practice several years, but finally abandoned its active duties and only followed it as consulting physician for that section of country. A few years before the rebellion, he had successfully engaged in the milling and lumber business in Virginia. After the commencement of the war, he passed through many vicissitudes and dangers but finally succeeded in disposing of his moveable property for a mere pittance, and entirely abandoning his real estate, he started for his home in New Jersey, thus losing the accumulations of years at one fell stroke. He was unexpectedly detained several weeks at Norfolk as parol prisoner, during which time his family heard nothing from him; at last, through the influence of some southern gentlemen, who had formed for him a warm friendship while in their midst by reason of his upright business habits and gentlemanly genial manners, he was granted a permit to pass the lines, and soon gladdened his family and friends by his return to his home. He afterward engaged in the drug business at Tuckerton, which he continued until his death. He died February 18th, 1876 aged 77 years." [28] [29]

On the maternal side, also, his descent is from a New Jersey family, his mother being Elizabeth, daughter of Thomas Butcher, of Burlington county." [30] [31]

"Richard H. Page, M.D., who died at his home in Columbus, Burlington County, New Jersey, in 1890, was for thirty years a successful medical practitioner, and was actively interested in various local business enterprises. He represented the third generation of the family in the medical profession, both his father and grandfather having been well-known physicians in their day. The Page family is one that has figured prominently in the business and industrial development of this locality for many years. Dr. Page was born in Evesham township, Burlington County, in 1829. He was a son of Thomas Page, M. D., and grandson of William Page, M. D., both of whom were graduates of the University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. William Page was a native of this part of Burlington County; and, after preparing himself for his professional work, he practiced in the township of Evesham until his death, which occurred at an advanced age. His son, Thomas Page, was born in Evesham. After finishing his collegiate course, he removed to Tuckerton, New Jersey, where he practiced with success and was a highly respected citizen. He died at the age of seventy-eight. In early manhood he was prominent in public affairs, and ably represented his town in the legislature." [32]
