Research Notes:

1709 William Griffin, Esqr High Sheriff of the County of Salem, Whereas I have received A Petition from George Trenchard, Setting forth that you have seized and taken in Execution a Certain tract of land formerly belonging to Samuel Curtis [perhaps this one], as part of the Estate of Peter Blacksfeilds and which Samuel Curtis had conveyed to George Trenchard. By a report the land could not be looked upon as the estate of Peter Blackfeild (who held it but in right of his wife) but of Samuel Curtis. You are required to putt the said George Trenchard in peaceable possession of said tract. Rich. Ingoldesby. Dated December 9. [1]

1731 George Holloway and Ruth Wood were married on November 10, at Springfield, Burlington County. Witnesses: Sam'l and Mary Curtis, and others. [2]
