1759 Robert Hinson, perhaps this one, was one of twelve on a jury (Joseph Hudnall, Wm Morgan, Wm Settle, Bushrode Doggett, Vincent Garner, Thomas Garner, Thomas Mitchell, John Stone, Parish Garner, and David Welsch) considering a motion by James Slaughter to lay off an acre of land belonging to Peter Route for a water mill. Date: August. [1]

1762 Robert Hinson, perhaps this one, and William Keirnes witnessed a deed of gift from Harman Fishback of Culpeper County to his daughter Elizabeth Taylor, wife of Joseph Taylor, of Fauquier County. [2]

1776 Robert Hinson, perhaps this one, witnessed a land settlement involving Benjamin and Ann Turner, William Allason, John and Mary Orr, Francis Jackson, Thomas Jordan, John Hooe, James Williams, Thomas James, and Wm Vaughan. Dated October 28. [3]

1779 Robert Hinson, perhaps this one, was granted 164 acres between Tin Pot and Licking Run in Fauquier County. Dated November 6. [4]

1802 Robert Hinson, Sr, perhaps this one, was granted 12.5 acres adjoining Benjamin Dod, and Nathaniel Dod in Fauquier County. Dated May 7. [5]

1802 The will of Robert Hinson [6]:

In the name of God Amen, I, Robert Hinson of Fauquier County and the state of Virginia, being sick and weak in body but in perfect mind and memory thanks be to God calling unto mine the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men to die do make and ordain this my last will and testament evoking all others that is today. First of all, I recommend my soul into the hand of Almighty God that gave it & my body to the Earth to be buried in a Christian like manner by my Executors here aforementioned. And as touching such worldly estate where with it has pleased God to bless me with in this life I give, demise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form to wit. First I construct make and ordain James Hinson and Tapley Hinson, my two sons, the sole Executors of this, my last will and testament. First it is my desire that my land & all my negroes continue in the hands of my aforesaid Executors to dispose of or sell to the best advantage allowing them two years and from the day of my death to perform the same should not opportunity permit sooner. I also leave in the hands of my Executors my sorrell horse to be sold imed after my death or as soon as an advantagious sell can be made and the money arising from the sale I wish my Executors with what money I have by me to purchase a negroe which negroe is to belong to my Estate & to be sold when the rest is equally divided ? ? it is my desire that my Executors keep as much of my stock of all kind as will be wanted? for the use of my negroes & plantation also what of my furniture may be wanted?. The rest of my goods and chattles to be sold in legal manner & the money arising from such sale to be equally divided amongst my children with the rest of my estate. Is my desire is that my Executors furnish Elizabeth Whitton with twenty dollars in six months after my death. My desire is that when my estate is sold I wish the money to be equally divided amongst all my children except twenty dollars to be deducted out of my daughter Ann Dialls part. If there is more made on my land than support my negroes I wish it to be equally divided also the above mentioned twenty dollars for Elizabeth Whitton is to be deducted out of her part of the estate. I wish my Executors to pay any legal or just debt that may come against my estate in ? where of I have hereinto set my hand seal this 29 day of March 1802.
