These notes are for David Meals, son of Ferdinand Meals. We have found records for three men named David Meals. We seek help in assuring that we have sorted out their documents correctly.:

Samuel and Maria (Baltzly) Meals had son David born 1820. David B. Meals died 10 November 1872 at age 53 (born c 1819) in Dayton, Ohio [1].

Valevean & Catherine (Fehl) Meals had son David born 1842. David Meals (1842-1870) was buried at Mount Holly Springs Cemetery, Mount Holly Springs, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, "C. A.209 P.V.I" [2].

David Meals was buried at the Upper Bermudian Church Cemetery, Gardners, Adams County, Pennsylvania. Died Oct 3, 1908, age 74 years, 6 months, 28 days (born 1834). "Co G 91 Regiment PA Vols" (unclear) [3].

1860 David Meals (age 18, born in Pennsylvania) lived in Menallen, Adams County, Pennsylvania, at post office Bendersville, with Ferdinand Meals (age 51), Catharine Meals (age 40), Amos Meals (age 22), Henrietta Meals (age 19), Eve Meals (age 14), Adam Meals (age 13), Elizabeth Meals (age 12), Susanna Meals (age 11), John Meals (age 9), George W Meals (age 7), Theodore Meals (age 4), Rosanna J Meals (age 3), and William Meals (age 1). [4]

1863 In June, David Meals of Huntington Twp, age 20, single, teamster, born in Pennsylvania, was subject to do military duty. [5]

1864-1865 David Meals enlisted in Harrisburg September 1, 1864, mustered into federal service there September 6 as a private with Co. A, 209th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry, and was honorably discharged with his company May 31, 1865.

1870 David Meals, perhaps this one, married, born Pennsylvania, died at age 28, in May. Cause Of Death: Thrown From Horse. South Middleton, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. [6]

1870 David Meals (1842-1870) was buried at Mount Holly Springs Cemetery, Mount Holly Springs, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. His grave marker records "C. A.209 P.V.I [7] [8]

1870 Letters of administration were issued to George W. Pressel(?) for the estate of David Meals, late of South Middleton Twp, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. [9] [10]

1921 Caroline Meals (1845-1921) was buried at Mount Holly Springs Cemetery, Mount Holly Springs, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. The grave marker appears to match that of David Meals. [11] [12] Caroline Meals died on December 2, 1921 at age 76y 3m 15d. [13]
