1858 On May 30, Henry S. Ruhl and Ellen Snyder were married in Morrow County, Ohio. [1] [2]

1871 On 26 January, Barton H. Ruhl was born in Morrow County, Ohio to parents Henry S. Ruhl and Ellen Snyder. [3]

1873 On May 11, Della and Ella Ruhl, daughters of HS Ruhl and Ellen Snyder, were born in Congress Twp, Morrow County, Ohio. [4] [5]

1873 On 4 September, Della Ruhl died in Congress Twp, Morrow County, Ohio. [6]

1873 On 31 August, Ella Ruhl died in Congress Twp, Morrow County, Ohio. [7]

1874 On 8 June, Mary Elizabeth Ruhl, daughter of HS Ruhl and Ellen Snyder, was born in Congress Twp, Morrow County, Ohio. [8]

1884 The will of Henry S Ruhl of coungress Twp, Morrow County, Ohio was dated August 6, 1884, a codicil was dated November 7, 1887, and the will was proved on December 15, 1887. The will mentioned his wife Ellen Ruhl, Amos W Ruhl, Enos S Ruhl, Edgar W Ruhl, Martha A Ruhl, B Catherine Ruhl, Jacob F Ruhl, Barton H Ruhl, Mary E Ruhl, Ida M Ruhl, and Charley R Ruhl. Jacob F, Barton H, and Charley R were under age 21. Wife Ellen and Edgar W Ruhl were named executors. The codicil mentioned wife, Edgar W Ruhl, Amos W Ruhl Charles R Ruhl, and B Cathrine Figley. Amos W Ruhl and John R Garverick were named executors. George R Hosler and Jacob F Ruhl were witnesses. [9] [10]

1925 On 8 December, A. W. Ruhl, son of H. S. Ruhl and Lydia Winter [Henry's first wife], married Jennie Wallace in Morrow County, Ohio. [11]

"Henry S. Ruhl, farmer; P. O. Andrews; is among the successful farmers in this township; he was born in Codorus Twp, York County, Pennsylvania., May 13, 1822, and was the third of a family of nine children, born to Henry and Barbara (Steffey) Ruhl, both of York County; the Ruhls are of German descent; the father was a farmer, and Henry naturally turned to this occupation; he remained at the family home until after he was 28 years of age; June 15, 1850, he was married to Lydia Winters, and soon after bought a part of his father's farm, on which he lived until 1856, when he sold out, and bought eighty acres where he now lives; soon after his arrival his wife died; she left on child-Amos W., born in Aug., 1851; he subsequently married Ellen Snyder, who was born Aug. 31, 1835, and is a daughter of Jacob Snyder; they have had twelve children, of whom nine are living-Enos S., Edgar W., Martha, Barbara C., Jacob F., Barton H., Mary E., Ida W., and Charles R; Mr. Ruhl has now 250 acres of land, and is still extending his boundaries; he is among the best farmers in the township, and does not trade or speculate, but confines his attention to the means which will bring him the surest returns; while he is alive to his temporal interests, he is not insensible to the duty he owes to the "Giver of all good," and to Him ever ascribes the praise for the blessings he has received."
