1850 Arthur W McCann (age 45, born in Pennsylvania) lived in Hopewell, York County, Pennsylvania with Mary (age 32), Arthur (age 12), George (age 11), Mary (age 10), Rachel (age 9), Peter (age 8), and Esther (age 6). [1]
1857 On February 19, the will of Magdalena Ruhl was proved in Hopewell Twp, York County, Pennsylvania. The will was dated July 11, 1855 and named daughter Mary married to Arthur McCann and son John. Magdalena and her children had inherited land from Henry Kline. Arthur McCann was excluded from the inheritance. Son John was a widower. Friend William Griffith and son John Ruhl were named executors. [2]
