Notes for Mary Schooley

1720 On 24 of month 12, Mary Schooley was born to parents John and Frances Scholey. [1]

1741 On 27 of month 7, Jonathan Barton, son of Mary Wright, the widow of Samuel Wright, was born. [2]

1772 Samuel Wright, perhaps this one, was a freeholder in Nottingham Twp, Burlington County, New Jersey. [3]

1783 On 7 of month 5, Mary Wright, widow of Samuel Wright, was on a list of members of the Upper Springfield particular meeting, Burlington County, New Jersey. [4] A note indicated that she was dau. of John Scholey in another version [5] [6].

1788 On Aug. 30, widow Mary Wright, of Springfield, Burlington County, dated her will. To my son, Jonathan Barton, plantation, whereon he now dwells in Mansfield township, purchased of the Executors of William Pancoast. To my 3 grandsons, Barzilla, John and David Barton, £2 each, when 21. To my grandson, Thomas Black, £10, and my gold buttons, when 21. Granddaughter, Mary Black, furniture, silver and wearing apparel. Rents and residue of estate to be equally divided between sons, Jonathan Barton and John Black. Executors: sons, Jonathan Barton and John Black. Witnesses: Caleb Newbold, William Newbold, Jr., and Mary Murry. Proved May 19, 1791. Lib. 32, p. 175; File 11415C. [Mary Wright, nee Mary Schooley, successively the wife and widow of Jonathan Barton, Thomas Black; and 2nd wife of Samuel Wright, (son of John and Abigail (Crispin) Wright) who died in 1786 and by whom she had no issue. 1791 The death of Mary Wright, widow of Samuel Wright, was reported in the Upper Springfield meeting records. [9] [10]
