1998 Earl Kenneth Gammon died on May 15 at Ames, Story County, Iowa and was buried at Ames Municipal Cemetery, Ames, Story County, Iowa. Earl Kenneth Gammon was born on November 24, 1915. [1] [2]

Died of cancer at Story County Hospital in Nevada; his body was donated to the University of Iowa Anatomy Dept.; he was an Army and Navy veteran; Adams Funeral Home in Ames.

2016 Theda Mae Ripkey Gammon died on February 8 at Ames, Story County, Iowa and was buried at Ames Municipal Cemetery, Ames, Story County, Iowa. Theda Mae Ripkey Gammon was born on April 3, 1929. [3] [4]

Theda Mae Gammon was born April 3, 1929 to John and Iva (Kersey) Ripkey in Nevada, Iowa.

Theda and Earl Gammon were married on May 10, 1947 in Kansas.

She worked for JC Penney in the children's department in Ames for 28 years.

Theda was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church [Ames, Iowa] and the Ames American Legion Auxiliary.

She was known for making her famous fried bread dough for family and friends. Theda enjoyed sewing, traveling with her family and summer vacations to her sister Arlene's resort in Canada. Watching birds come and feed at her numerous bird feeders was always an interesting activity for her. Spending time with children and grandchildren was a fun and educational past time.

Theda passed away at 86 years of age on February 8, 2016 at Bickford Cottage in Ames.

Theda is survived by her daughter, Patricia (Dwayne) Rogers of St. Charles, Illinois; four sons, Mike (Carol) Gammon of Ames, Rick (Kay) Gammon of Ames, David (Kathi) Gammon of Nevada and Jim (Janice) Gammon of Nevada; twelve grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Velva (Jim) Hogfeldt of Rockford, Illinois and Virginia Otto of Indian River, Michigan.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Earl; twin infant grandsons; one brother, John Ripkey Jr.; and three sisters, Arlene Shuey, Marie Hein and Vera Ripkey.

In lieu of flowers, an in-kind donation to the Story County Food Pantry would be much appreciated.
