Notes for Ulrich Leib

1724 The Friesenheim Palatine Mennonite Census of 1724 lists Ulrich Leib as follows: "Ulrich Leip has lived on the von Sickingen estate for three years, but does not pay to the gracious masters nor to the community. No wealth." [1]

1727 Ulrich Leib [Orick Leep] immigrated to America on September 30 on the ship Molley with shipmaster John Hodgeson from Rotterdam. [2] [3]

1728 Ulrich Leib signed the oath of allegiance to King George of England to be naturalized in Pennsylvania, which allowed him to hold land as a citizen. He was on the list of Mennonites. [4] [5] [6]

1734 Ulrick Leib [Lype] received a survey for 200 acres in Manheim Twp, Lancaster County. [7] The 1734 survey for Woolrick [Ulrich] Leib [Lype] showed 246 acres. [8] Adjacent tracts were owned by John George Kissel, Henry Bear, and Jacob Frik [9] [10]. Ulrich Leib patented 246 acres in 1744. [11]

1741 Ulrich Leib [Leip], Michael Bochman, and John Stoner made inventory of the estate of Abraham Stoner of Warwick Twp, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Date: November 27.

1741 Michael Baughman and Ulrich Lieb, administrators of Abraham Stoner, deceased, exhibited an account to the Orphans' Court. No sale of the goods had been made and there were a great many young children, so no distribution could be made. The oldest son, with the guardians, were to make sale of the goods. John Stoner, age 18, and Maudlin Stoner age 16 asked that Abraham Stoner, their brother, be made their guardian. Peter Yorter, Ulrich Leip, and (son) Abraham Stoner were made guardians of Jacob, Elizabeth, Christian, Henry, and Peter Stoner. Date: December 8.

1744 Ulrich Leib surveyed 50 acres in Manheim Twp, Lancaster County adjacent to the 1734 tract. [12] The 1746 survey reported 101 acres [13]. Adjacent tracts were owned by Henry Bear, Abraham Steiner, and Henry Coffman. Ulrich Leib patented 101 acres on 16 September, 1747. [14]

1744 Ulrick Lype, of Lancaster County, was naturalized at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. [15]

1748 Nicholas Kissel of Warwick Twp, Lancaster County, sold land to Frederick Kissell in Warwick Twp that was adjacent to land of Ulrich Leib [Lype]. [16]

1756 Ulrick Leib [Libe] was taxed 12 shillings, six pence in Manheim Twp, Lancaster County. [17]

1761 Jacob Coffman sold land in Manheim Twp that was adjacent to land of Ulrich Leib [Lype]. [18]

1763 Ulrich Leib and M Linnel were executors for the will of Jacob Lime [Line?] in Lancaster County. [19]

1763 Christian Stiner mortgaged land to Caspar Grubb on March 23. The tract in Warwick Twp was described as adjacent to land of Ulrich Leib [Lype]. [20]

1767 Son Ulrick Leib [Lype] of Manheim Twp and wife Frena sold land in Manheim Twp to son John. [21]

1767 The will of son Ulrich Leib was dated 18 May, 1767 in Manheim Twp, Lancaster County. Wife Veronica to receive 80 pounds and no more, except what is due unto her by son John by a certain instrument in writing bearing even date herewith. Children: Henry, Verona married to John Geib received 1 shilling each. Son Ulrick received 2 pounds and no more. Rest of estate to sons Christian, Abraham, Peter and John Leib and Jacob Fricks and Christian Long. Executors: friend John Frick of Manheim Twp and son-in-law Christian Long of Warwick Twp. On 5 August 1767, Witnesses Hans Huber, and Jacob Frick and Johannes Long affirmed the will. On 11 September, 1767, Ulrick Leib wrote: Whereas son-in-law Christian Long died, I do hereby in his room constitute executors in this my last will my son Ulrick Leib Junior, witnessed by Peter Miller and Jacob Kimmel. Probate 5 September, 1769. [22] [23]

1784 Grandson Ulrich Leib [Leip] warranted land in Shrewsbury Twp, York County. [24] [25]
