1847 Noah Weaver Reed was born on October 7. [1]

Noah Reed was a well-known thresher and operated a saw mill.

1870 Abraham Reed (age 52) lived in Union City, Elkhart County, Indiana, with wife Mary Reed and Noah (age 23), Aaron (age 21), Anna (age 21), Abraham (age 19), Mary (age 17), Lydia (age 17), and Elias (age 15). [2]

1880 Abraham and Mary Reed lived in Union City, Elkhart County, Indiana with Noah, (farmer, age 30), and Elias, (carpenter, age 24). [3]

1881 Noah Weaver Reed married Catharine Pepple on October 8.. [4]

1885 Charles Reed, son of Noah W. Reed and Catharine Pepple, married Susie B. Good on October 15 at Elkhart County, Indiana. [5]

1886 William A. Reed, son of Noah W. Reed and Catharine Pepple, married Vera Viota Fields on June 19, at Elkhart County, Indiana. [6]

1888 Jesse Reed, son of Noah W. Reed and Catharine Pepple, married Beulah May Berkey on April 9, at Elkhart County, Indiana. [7]

1888 Anna C. Reed, daughter of Noah W. Reed and Catherine Pepple, married Davie W. Kilmer on May 24, at Elkhart County, Indiana. [8]

1892 Catharine Pepple Reed died on July 27. [9] An obituary reported [10]:

Reed.--On the 27th of July, in Elkhart Co., Indiana, Catharine, wife of Noah Reed (maiden name Peffle), aged 38 years, 10 months and 8 days. Funeral services were held by Henry Shaum and George Lambert. Buried at Union Center. Deceased was born in Dekalb Co., Ind.; was the mother of five children, and was an esteemed member of the Mennonite church.

1894 Noah Reed and Barbara Metzler were married on March 27. [11]

1894 Noah Reed was a member of the Mennonite Church from 1894 until his death.

1905 Nora Reed married Samuel Metzler on January 21, at Elkhart County, Indiana. [12]

1915 An obituary for Barbara Metzler Reed reported [13]:

Barbara Metzler Reed was born Aug. 15, 1850, near New Springfield, Ohio; died at her home near Nappanee, Indiana, Jan. 13,1915;aged 64 y. 4 m 18 d. She was married to Noah W Reed Mar. 27, 1894. To this union no children were born. She leaves a husband, 3 brothers, 1 sister, a step-daughter and 3 step-sons with their respective families and many relatives and friends to mourn their loss. Three brothers and 2 sisters and a step-daughter preceded her to the end. To a family of motherless children she gave every care and her unfaltering devotion to Christian principles was daily evident in her life. Her last years were of suffering and pain endured through a long, lingering illness occasioned by disease and her last wish and desire was that her children would live such live that they might meet her again in heaven. Funeral services conducted at the home by John Bare and at the church by D. A. Yoder. Text, II Cor. 5:1. Burial at Union Center Cemetery.

1933 An obituary for Noah Weaver Reed reported [14]:

Noah Weaver Reed, "son of Abraham and Mary Weaver Reed, was born Oct. 7, 1847, in Mahoning County, Ohio; died at his home near Nappanee, Indiana, July 15, 1933; aged 85 y. 8 m. 28 d. At the age of 14 years he came with his parents to Indiana and settled in Union Tp. In 1882 he was united in marriage to Catharine Pepple. To this union were born 5 children (Jesse, who lives on the Reed homestead; Charles, of Helena, Mo.; Mrs. David Kilmer of Seville, Ohio). A daughter (Elnora, wife of Samuel B. Metzler) died in 1907, and William A Reed died in 1918. His wife died in 1892. In 1894 he was married to Barbara Metzler, who preceded him in death in 1915. Surviving are the children, 10 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers (Aaron of Wakarusa, and Abram of Nappanee), and 2 sisters (Mrs. Lydia Ramer of Nappanee, and Mrs. Mary Musser of Goshen. He united with the Mennonite Church in 1894 and has been a faithful member since that time, attending church services when health permitted. He has been in failing health for sometime, although sick only two weeks. He was well known as a thresher for a period of 14 years in Elkhart, St. Joseph, and Marshall counties. He also operated a saw mill for many years on the Reed homestead. Funeral services were held at the Union Center church on July 7, conducted by Ray F. Yoder, assisted by John Fredrick. Interment in the adjoining cemetery. Peace to his ashes.
