1860 Saml Bassler (age 30, born in Pennsylvania) lived in Woodbury Twp, Bedford County, Pennsylvania, in a household with Mary A Bassler (age 28), David M Bassler (age 4), Malissa Bassler (age 2), Annie F Bassler (age 1), and Amanda Glass (age 12). Saml Bassler's occupation was farmer. [1]

1870 Samuel Basler (age 40, born in Pennsylvania) lived in Middle Woodbury, Bedford County, Pennsylvania, in a household with David Basler (age 14), Melissa Basler (age 12), Anna Basler (age 10), Isaiah Basler (age 5), Amanda Glass (age 21), and Mary Basler (age 38). Samuel Basler's occupation was farmer. [2]

1880 Mary A. Bassler (age 47, born in Pennsylvania, married), wife, lived in Woodbury Twp, Bedford County, Pennsylvania, in a household with Samuel Bassler (age 50), Malissa Bassler (age 22), Isaiah Bassler (age 15), and William E. Bassler (age 6). Mary A. Bassler's parents were both born in Pennsylvania. [3]

1889 Jennie M. Bassler, age 30, and Ralph L. Keagy were married on January 22. Jennie M. Bassler was a daughter of Samuel Bassler and Mary Bassler. (FHL film 000331320). [4]

1896 Samuel Bassler died on November 19 and was buried at Replogle Cemetery, Woodbury, Bedford County, Pennsylvania. Samuel Bassler was born on July 14, 1829. [5]

1904 Mary A. Moist Bassler died on April 18 and was buried at Replogle Cemetery, Woodbury, Bedford County, Pennsylvania. Mary A. Moist Bassler was born on January 23, 1832. [6] An obituary reports [7]:

Mrs. Mary A. Bassler, widow of Samuel Bassler, of Woodbury, died on April 18, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. R. L. Keagy, of Valley Centre, Kan., where she had been visiting since last May. Mrs. Bassler's maiden name was Mary Moist. She was born in Juniata county on January 23, 1832. She was united in marriage to Samuel Bassler on September 1, 1853. After her marriage she moved to Woodbury, where she resided until last May, when she went on a visit through the west. Mr. Bassler died on November 19, 1896.

The deceased is survived by three sons and one daughter, namely, David M. Bassler, of New Enterprise; Elmer W., of Woodbury; Isaiah S., of Elyria, 0., and Mrs. R. L. Keagy, of Valley Centre, Kan. Four brothers and three sisters also survive her.

The body was brought to Woodbury on April 21, and interment was made on Saturday. Mrs. Bassler was a faithful member of the River Brethren church for a number of years.

1953 Elmer W Bassler, son of Samuel Bassler and Mary Morst, died on December 15, 1953, at age 80, in Roaring Spring, Blair County, Pennsylvania. Elmer W Bassler was born on October 16, 1873, in Woodbury, Pennsylvania. [8]
