1849 William Weigel, son of Jonas and Christina Weigle, was born on November 2. He was baptized on April 15, 1849 at the Upper Bermudian Church. [1]

1850 William Weigle (age 1) was listed in the 1850 census for Huntington, Adams County, Pennsylvania with Jonas Weigle (age 41), Christina Weigle (age 41), Sarah Weigle (age 15), Elizabeth Weigle (age 13), Samuel Weigle (age 10), Sophia Weigle (age 8), and Jonas Weigle (age 7). [2]

1860 Jonas Weigle (age 51, born in Pennsylvania) lived in Franklin Twp, Adams County, Pennsylvania, in a household with Christina Weigle (51), Jonas Weigle (16), Sophia Weigle (19), William Weigle (10), and John Weigle (8). Jonas Weigle was a farmer. [3] [4]

1876 Jonas M. Weigel; Jonas Weigel, blacksmith; and William M Weigel, blacksmith; were listed in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania living at 923 N Front. [5] Also listed under the name Waggle at 618 Colder. [6]

1877 Jonas Weigle Sen and Jonas Weigle Jun, blacksmith, and Wm M Weigle, carpenter, were listed on Cowden St n Calder, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. [7]

1878 Jonas M. Weigel; Jonas Weigel, blacksmith; and William M Weigel, blacksmith; were listed in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania living at Briggs ab 16th. [8]

1880 William Weigle (age 31), single, son, Blacksmith, lived in Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania (father born in Pennsylvania and mother born in Pennsylvania) with Jonas Weigle (age 71), Sophia Weigle (age 35), Jonas Weigle (age 35), Gertrude Weigle (age 11), and Charlie Weigle (age 6). They lived on Commerce Street and the census enumeration was dated June 9, 1880. [9] [10]

1882 Jonas Weigle and William M Weigle, blacksmith, were listed in Boyd's Telegraph Directory for Harrisburg, Pennsylvania living at 11th n Herr. Perhaps Jonas senior had died. [11]

Research Notes:

The following notes are for William Weigle, blacksmith born June, c1840 and married to Elizabeth c 1875. Not a very good fit to William, single in 1880 and born 1849.

1895 "William Weigle the blacksmith was kicked in the arm by a horse, tearing the biceps muscle nearly off." [12]

1900 Fred Weigle (age 59, birthdate Jun 1840, born in Pennsylvania), blacksmith, married, head, lived in Ellwood City, Lawrence County, Pennsylvania (father born in Pennsylvania and mother born in Pennsylvania) with Elizabeth Weigle (age 59). They had been married for 24 years. Elizabeth had had no children. [13]

1900 Herbert C Lewis (age 27, birthdate Aug 1872, born in Ohio), married, head, lived in Ellwood City, Lawrence County, Pennsylvania (father born in Ohio and mother born in Illinois) with Margaret Lewis (age 27), Baby Lewis (age 1/12), Jane Ray (age 44), and Sarah Ray (age 11). [14]

1910 William Weigle (age 69, born in Pennsylvania), married, head, blacksmith, lived in Ellwood Ward 2, Lawrence County, Pennsylvania (father born in Pennsylvania and mother born in Pennsylvania) with Elizabeth Weigle (age 68), and Mary J Brooks (age 27). They had been married for 35 years. Elizabeth had had no children. [15]

1910 Herbert A Lewis (age 36, born in Ohio), married, head, Electrician, lived in Beaver Falls Ward 6, Beaver County, Pennsylvania (father born in Ohio and mother born in Ohio) with Margaret E Lewis (age 36), Beryl E Lewis (age 10), and Geraldine G Lewis (age 6). [16]

1914 William Weigle of Ellwood Falls age 74 died at the home of his daughter Mrs HA Lewis in Beaver Falls. [17] William Weigle died 20 October, 1914 at New Castle, Pennsylvania. HA Lewis, administrator. [18]
