1777 George Washington, while looking for a location for the nation's capitol, spent a night at the home of Christian Ebersole. [5]
1802 The will of Christian Ebersole reported a wife and named several children. [6]
1805 Christian Ebersole died near Hagerstown, Maryland. [7]

Richard Warren Davis reports: Christian Ebersole "died at Donegal in 1757 leaving a son named Christian. Widow Ebersole was taxed at Mt. Joy in 1759. He is probably the Christian Ebersole who was dead by 1783 and had land in Mt. Joy township, Lancaster as that his when his widow is mentioned as being married to John Leman of Rockingham County, Virginia. ... He was taxed in 1751, 1756 and 1757 at Donegal. Hannes Ebersole signed a bond in 1757 for the estate of Christian. This Hannes is probably the John Ebersole who died in 1770 at Rapho, brother of Christian." [8]
14 May 1776 Christian Ebersole a minor child of Christian Ebersole formerly of Donegal Township, deceased, being above age 14 chooses John Jameson of Mt. Joy over his estate (Orphan's Court 14 May 1776, p. 19).
