Research Notes:

c 1673 Josef Gochenauer was born at Friedelsheim. [1]

1693 Josef Gochenauer was a baptized Mennonite when he left the Ibersheim Congregation to go to Friedrichstadt. [2]

1698 Josef Gochenauer, unmarried, returned to the Pfalz on April 9, with his sisters Leysbeth and Catherina. [3]

1719 Joseph Kochenauer was listed as a Mennonite and an inhabitant in a village of Alsheim near Ibersheim, with his wife, 2 sons and 2 daughters and was called the farmer
for "Herrn Hinterhuss von Fürth". [4]

1728 Josef Gochnur, perhaps this one, signed the oath of allegiance to King George of England to be naturalized in Pennsylvania, which allowed him to hold land as a citizen. He was on the list of Mennonites. [5]

1736 Josef Gochenauer might be the father of Joseph, Elisabeth, Jacob and Heinrich who all emigrated to Pennsylvania by 1736. [6]

1738 Josef Gochenauer was not found on the Mennonite census at Alsheim in 1738, which may indicate that he died by 1736, when his children emigrated. [7]
