1468 In the Court of Common Pleas, Michaelmas term 1468, Buckinghamshire, Robert Basset, Alderman and Citizen of London, sued John Colyer, yeoman, of Newport Pagnell, Buckinghamshire, concerning a debt. "Pleading: Robert Basset states that on 26 October 1467, at Newport Pagnell, John Colyer bought from him 45lb of wax, 28¾ ells of linen cloth called canvas, 56lb of soap ('smigmatis'), 53 ½ ells of linen cloth called 'raw Flemish cloth', 52 ells of linen cloth called 'Brabant cloth', 5000 nails called roof nails, and 10½ gallons of oil, all for £6, payable on request. However, JC has not paid this, to his damage of 100s. Pleading: JC states that he does not owe RB this £6 or any money as claimed. Parties on country, jury here at morrow of All Souls." 1482 In "Anno 22" of Edward IV (4 March 1481/82-3 March 1482/3), "Robert Basset, citizen and alderman of London, and Joan, his wife, widow of Humfrey Hayford, late citizen and alderman of London," transferred "Premises in Totenham." [2]

Sir William Haryot, knight, citizen and alderman of London, William Horne, citizen and alderman of London, Richard Chawery, citizen and alderman of London, Robert Forster, Thomas Rygby, and Richard Graunt, and Robert Basset, citizen and alderman of London, and Joan, his wife, widow of Humfrey Hayford, late citizen and alderman of London. Premises in Totenham. Anno 22.

1484 "Robert Bassett, Lord mayor of London, 1475-6" died "between 11 May and 27 July 1484." [3] [4]

1486-93 In the Court of Chancery, plaintiff "Thomas, son of Robert, son of Robert Bassett, late mayor of London" sued defendant "William Horne, knight, alderman of London, feoffee to uses" concerning "Messuages in the parish of St Mildred, late of the said Robert, the elder. London." [5]

1486-93 In the Court of Chancery, plaintiffs "John Barell and Elizabeth, his wife, previously the wife of Robert Bassett, son and heir of Robert Bassett, late mayor of London" sued defendants "William Horn, knight, and Richard Chaury, feoffees to uses" concerning "Messuages in St Matthew's, Friday Street, late of the said Robert, the father. 1486-93 In the Court of Chancery, plaintiff Oliver Caston, of London, skinner" sued defendants "William Tey and Elizabeth, his wife, daughter and executrix of Robert Basset, alderman of London" concerning "Bonds given to the said Robert, and more than discharged by supplying ale for his household at the rate of seven barrels weekly for 3s and 1s 8d a barrel.
