1886 Charles Wolfe, son of Ira Wolfe and Clara Brenizer, was born on 7 January, in Scott City, Kansas. His marriage license lists Kansas City as his place of birth, but his parents lived near Abilene, Kansas and they moved further west to Scott County, Kansas soon after they were married in 1885. c 1900 Charles Wolfe, as a young man. [6]

1900 Charles Wolfe was listed twice in the census:

Charles Wolfe (age 14), farm laborer, lived with parents Ira and Clara, sister Grace (age 10), and brother Homer (age 4), in Union City Village, Jackson Twp, Darke County, Ohio. Father Ira was a railroad laborer and Grace was attending school. They lived next door to uncle Frank Shall (George F Shawl) across from the Union City high school, as described in brother Homer Wolfe's story. George Frank Shawl lived with his wife Anna M (Brenizer), three daughters, and mother-in-law Sarah A (Weigel) Brenizer. Uncle George Shawl was a carriage blacksmith. Aunt Anna Shawl and Grandmother Brenizer were dressmakers. Both families owned their houses with mortgages. Neither was a farmhouse. [7][8]

Charles Wolf (born January, 1886, in Kansas) was also listed as a servant working and living in the Puterbaugh household in Greenville Twp, Darke County, Ohio. [9]

1902 Charles Wolfe's father, Ira Wolfe, moved the family across town, next door to Ira's cousin, Joe Eichelberger.

1903 Charles Wolfe's sister, Faith Wolfe, was born. [10]
