Notes for Thomas Rogers and Ann Staples

1736 Thomas Rogers, yeoman, and Ann Staples, spinster, both of Burlington were married on October 30 at the Upper Springfield meeting. [1] [2] [3]

1745 Thomas Rodgers, perhaps this one, and John Rodgers were freeholders in Burlington City, Burlington County, New Jersey. [4]

1748 Land of Thomas Rogers, perhaps this one, was adjacent to that of Benjamin Stevenson. [5]

1758 Ann, wife of Thomas Rogers, was named as a daughter in the will of Thomas Staples, dated 25 October 1758 in Burlington City. Grandchildren Mehetable and Mary Rogers were also named. [6]

1770 Thomas Rogers [Junior] and Sarah Powell were married on November 7 at Burlington, Burlington County, New Jersey. Witnessed by Thomas and Ann Rodgers and others. [7]

1776 Thomas Rogers Sen'r and wife Ann were named with children John, Phebe, and Elizabeth, as members of the Burlington Meeting. [8]

1780 John Taylor and Phebe Rogers were married on November 9 at the Burlington Meeting, Burlington County, New Jersey. Witnessed by Thomas and Ann Rogers, and others. [9]

1780 Thomas, husband of Ann Rogers was taxed in Burlington Twp, Burlington County, New Jersey. [10]

1791 Ann, wife of Thomas Rogers Sr, died on 23 of month 3. [11] [12]

1791 The Will of Thomas Rogers senior of Burlington Twp, Burlington County was dated March 28 and was proved on December 31, 1792. Son John Staples Rogers received the home plantation with all farming utensils and the clock after paying all debts and 20 pounds to daughter Pheby Taylor. Son Thomas received 5 shillings and a gore of land adjoining Joseph Jr. Daughters Mahetabe, Mary, Martha, Ann, Patience, and Elizabeth 'have been like satisfied'. Executor was son John Staples Rogers. Witnesses were Zachariah Antrim, Thomas Deacon, and William Hughes. [13]
