Notes for John Bunting and Sarah Foulke

1658 The birth of Sarah, daughter of Thomas Fouke, was registered on 6 month 11 [January], 1657/58, at both the North Wingfield parish and the Chesterfield [Quaker] Meeting in Derbyshire, England. [1] [2]

1678 Sarah and Mary Fouke, and others, witnessed the marriage of William Marshland and Salome Bunting, which took place on April 30, at the house of Anthony Bunting in Matlock, Nottinghamshire. [3] Witnessed by father Anthony; mother Helen; brothers William, Samuel, and John; sister Mary; Mary and Sarah Fouke; and others. [4]

1679 On last day of April, "John Bunting and Sarah Fowke having formerly at the Quarterly & Monthly meetings of friends declared theire intention to Joyne together in Marriage & haveing friends consent [the present?] did this last day of the second month in the yeare 1679 according to the good order of truth & practice of the people of god both in the former & in the ? solemnize the said marriage by declaring that they did take each other to bee husband & wife in the presence of Thomas Ffowke, Mary Ffowke, Thomas Broiksopp, Susanna fritz, Richard Clayton, Anna Breiksopp, Joseph Ffrith, Hellen Frettwell, Joan Clayton, Anthony Woodward, Anne Ashly, William Bunting his Brother, Joseph Arnold, Mathew Hopkinson, Samuel Bunting, John Gratton, Joshua Arnold, John Ball, William Marshland, Joshua Ffearne, William Samson, Samuel Clarke, John Curtis." 1680 Mary Bunting, daughter of John and Sarah Bunting, was born on 19 of month 8, at Matlock in Derbyshire in Old England. [8]

1683 John Bunting, son of John and Sarah Bunting, was born on 24 of month 4, in West Jersey in America. [9]

1687 Anthony Woodward and Hannah Folkes, daughter of Thomas Foulke, were married on February 14, 1686/87, at Chesterfield. Witnessed by Sarah and John Bunting and others. [10]

1688 Thomes Faulk, yeoman, of Chesterfield, Burlington County, West New Jersey gave land to his daughter Sarah Bunting, wife of John Bunting, carpenter, of same, for love and affection, 12 acres west of John Bunting's house. Signed Thomas Faulk. Wit: Thomas Faulk Jr., Job Bunting & Roger Parks. Dated October 23. [11]

1704 William Murfin and Sarah Bunting were married on August 8, at Chesterfield. Witnesses: John and Sarah Bunting and others. [12]

1706 John King and Elizabeth Woodward were married on November 13, at Chesterfield. Witnessed by John and Sarah Bunting and others. [13]

1706 John Black and Sarah Rockhill were married on December 4, at Chesterfield, Burlington County, New Jersey. Witnessed by John Bunting and others. [14]

1714 The will of John Bunting senior of Chesterfield Twp, Burlington County was dated the 8th day, 1st month (March) with inventory dated May 4, 1722. It named wife Sarah and children John, William, and Sarah Murfin. The estate included the home farm of 250 acres, a lot of 70 acres near the meeting house, and personal property. The wife was named sole executrix. Witnessed by Jacob Doughty, Thomas Folkes, and John Bunting Junior. The inventory made May 4 by John Tantum, John Middleton, and John Bunting valued the estate at 209.13 pounds with 2 bibles and other books. [15]

1716 William Bunting and Abigail Horseman, daughter of Marmaduke, were married on October 11. Witnesses: John Sr and Sarah Sr Bunting and others. [16]

1723 The will of Sarah Bunting of Chesterfield Twp, Burlington County was dated 2nd day 11th month (Jan) 1722/23 and was proved on January 11. Sarah Bunting, widow, named daughter Sarah wife of William Murfin and sons John and William. Son John was executor. Witnessed by Benjamin Doughty, Mary Danford, and John Tantum. [17]

1722 John Bunting died in the 2nd month, and was buried at Chesterfield. [18] [19] [20] [21]

1722 Sarah Bunting died on 6 of month 11, and was buried at Chesterfield. [22] [23] [24]
