1799 John B Brenizer was born on September 5. [1] His father was David Brenizer, a native of Pennsylvania. [2]

1801 Catherine Knisley was born on August 27. [3]

1821 John Brenizer and Catherine Knisley were married on April 5, at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Carlisle, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. [4] [5] [6]

1836-38 John Brenizer was trustee in Franklin Twp, Wayne County, Ohio. [7]

1839 John Brenizer and wife were named as heirs in the estate of widow Mary Knisely, along with John Knisely, Jacob Knisely, and Christianna Knisely. Widow Knisely had apparently remarried to Abraham Hursh, who died.

1850 John Breniger (age 53, born in Pennsylvania) lived in Rock Grove, Stephenson County, Illinois with Catherine Breniger (age 49), John Breniger (age 19), Eli Breniger (age 17), Sarah Breniger (age 15), Elizabeth Breniger (age 13), Josiah Breniger (age 11), Calisra Breniger (age 9), and Susanna Breniger (age 7). 1860 John Brenhiser [Brenizer](age 62) and Catherine Brenizer lived in Rock Grove Twp, Stephenson County, Illinois with Eli (age 27), Josiah (age 23), Clarissa (age 17), and Susan (age 16). [12]

1863 John Brenizer and JR Brenizer were taxed in Rock Grove, Illinois. [13]

1870 John Brenizer (age 72) and Catherine Brenizer (age 68) lived in Rock Grove Twp, Stephenson County, Illinois with Caroline (age 27) and Susan (age 25)(grand-daughters?). [14]

1877 John Brenizer died on October 14, at age 80y 1m 2d, and was buried at Frankeburger Cemetery, Rock Grove, Stephenson County, Illinois. [15] [16]

1881 Katharine Brenizer, wife of J. Brenizer, died on February 10, at age 79y 6m 13d, and was buried at Frankeburger Cemetery, Rock Grove, Stephenson County, Illinois. [17]

Research Notes:

Mennonite records name John Brenizer, son of David Brenizer and Barbara Bricker, as a farmer at Church Breth Rock Grove, Stephenson County, Illinois. He and Catherine Knisley (August 27, 1801 - February 9, 1881) were married in 1819. Their children and their spouses were named. [18]
