Mrs. Manila Bay Boyer, 71, of 693 Baldwin died at 6 p.m. Wednesday in Elkhart General Hospital. She had been in ill health for six months.

She was born March 6, 1898, in Allegan, Mich. She was married to Orvil L. Boyer in 1921 in Elkhart. He died Aug. 31, 1951.

She was a secretary to the advertising manager of Miles Laboratories Inc. until her retirement six years ago. She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Zara Sunday, Elkhart, Mrs Charles Sunday of Odenton, Mrs. Charles Felder, Bristol, and Mrs. Bruce Cole, Hampton, a son, S. McQuithy Boyer of Bristol; 13 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Friends may call in the White Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Friday. Services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday in St. David's Episcopal Church, of which she was a member, with Rev. Paul Ross, vicar, officiating. Burial will be in Prairie St. Cemetery.

She was a member of the Elkhart Literacy Councils. Memorials may be made to St. Davids. Episcopal Church.

1979 Mary Ruth Felder (age 50) and Charles William Felder (age 54) were married on October 14, 1979 in Sheshewana Twp, LaGrange County, Indiana. [25]

2007 Son-in-law Charles W. Felder died on February 13 and was buried at Shore Mennonite Church Cemetery, LaGrange County, Indiana. Charles W. Felder was born on August 22, 1925. [26] [27]

2010 Zara Marie Sunday, divorced, daughter of Orvil L. Boyer and Manila Bay Price, died at age 87, on August 28, 2010 in Goshen Twp, Elkhart County, Indiana. Zara Marie Sunday was born on June 25, 1923 in Elkhart, Indiana. [28]

2021 Daughter Mary Ruth Boyer Felder died on January 7 and was buried at Shore Mennonite Church Cemetery, LaGrange County, Indiana. Mary Ruth Boyer Felder was born on December 27, 1928. [29] [30]

Mary Ruth Felder, 92, of Shipshewana passed away at 2:53 pm on Thursday, January 7, at Parkview LaGrange Hospital with her daughters by her side.

She was born on December 27, 1928 in Millersburg to Orvil and Manila Bay (Price) Boyer. On June 28, 1946 in Elkhart she married Charles William "Bill" Felder, he died February 13, 2007.

Surviving are two daughters, Sheila Johnson and Theresa Felder both of Shipshewana; son, Steve Felder of Maui, HI; grandchildren, Billy, Angie, Mary, John, Jr., Cheryl, Jennifer and Heather; special grandson, Travis; great grandchildren, Corey, Andrew, Kaitlyn, Chandler, Austin, Zachary, Aaron, Michael, Justin, Matthew, Dominick, Abbigal, Carleen, and Brad; great great grandchildren, Aaron and Lincoln; sister, Helen Jean Sunday of Odenton, MD; brother, S. Quithy Boyer of Bristol.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Sandra Marie Felder; two sisters, Zara Marie Sunday and Manila Cole. Mary Ruth was a homemaker and had worked at CTS Corporation in Elkhart as a group leader. She was a member of Shore Church where she was active in the sewing circle for many years. She was a member of the Quarter Century Club at CTS and volunteered for Freedom Fellowship.

Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 am on Saturday, January 23 at Shore Church, Shipshewana. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am also at the church. Face coverings and social distancing are encouraged. Services will be conducted by Pastor Carl Horner and her shepherds, Joel and Kim Mishler. Burial will be in Shore Cemetery, Shipshewana. Memorials may be given to Rainbow Years Learning Center or Break the Grey. Online condolences may be offered at millerstewartfuneralhome.com.
