Notes for Jacob Good and Elizabeth Stoner

Jacob Good, son of Peter Good, married Elizabeth Stoner. [1] [2] [3]

1748 Jacob and Elizabeth Good sold, on November 13, 100 acres of land for 50 pounds to (Jacob's brother) Peter Good, a minor aged 13, all of Conestoga Twp, Lancaster County. The land on Pequea Creek had been granted by Peter Good, deceased, and wife Margaret to Jacob Good in 1741. The deed was written in German and both Jacob and Elizabeth signed with their marks. Other parts of the land of Peter Good had been sold to Christian Stoner and to Jacob Crydor. [4]

1753 Francis and Elizabeth Fortunee, shopkeeper of Lancaster Bourough sold land to Jacob Good. [5]

1754 Jacob and Elizabeth Good and John and Elizabeth Good sold land on Pequea Creek to Lieutenant Governor James Hamilton. [6]

1755 Jacob and Elizabeth Good of Conestoga Twp sold land to Jacob Kountz (Kuntz), perhaps the land purchased in 1753. [7]

1756 The estate settlement for Elizabeth Stoner's father named her as the wife of Jacob/Isaac Good. [8] A subsequent (1793) settlement involving Elizabeth's second husband, George Warfel clarified her first husband's name as Jacob Good. [9]

1761 Jacob Good's will was dated dated March 18, 1761 and was proved on April 1. Wife Elizabeth. Children Peter, Margaret, Catharine, John, and Christian. [10] [11] [12]

1770 The heirs of Jacob Good were named in Orphans Court proceedings. [13]

"GB21 Jacob Good, 48 born ca. 1710; will proved Apr. 1, 1761; married Elizabeth Stoner, daughter of John Stoner (will proved 1759, Conestoga Twp.) and Catharine. She married (2) George Warfel." [14] This source shows Jacob Good as a son of Peter Good [GB2] and Margaretha Geetha.

"21. Jacob Good, born c1717, Germany. died March 1761, Conestoga Township, Lancaster County. He married Elizabeth Stoner (born c1720), daughter of John Steiner. She married secondly George Werfel. Jacob was called the oldest son of Peter in a deed dated 13 Nov 1748. Jacob wrote his will 18 Mar 1761 and it was proved 1 Apr 1761. He named his five children his will. His father sold him land in Conestoga Township in 1741. He was taxed at Conestoga Township from 1751 to 1759." [15]

Elizabeth Stoner, born c 1721, daughter of John and Catherine Brenneman. "She married by 1756 Jacob Good son of Peter and Margaretha of Martic Twp, Lancaster County." [16]
