1870 Joseph and Harriet Rohrer lived in Harrison Twp, Elkhart County, Indiana with children Anna, Mary, Sarah, Emanuel, Lovina, Isaiah, Josiah, and Almira. [5] [6]

1880 Joseph Rohrer (age 50) and Harriet Rohrer (age 46) lived in Harrison Twp, Elkhart County, Indiana with children Sarah Rohrer (age 22), Emanuel Rohrer (age 20), Lovina Rohrer (age 19), Isaiah Rohrer (age 17), Josiah Rohrer (age 14), Elmira Rohrer (age 12), Elisabeth Rohrer (age 9), Rosia M Rohrer (age 4), and Lovisa Rohrer (age 1). 1892 Samuel K Boyer and Sarah Rohrer were married on February 28, at Goshen, Elkhart County, Indiana. [11] [12] [13] [14] [15] [16]

1892 March, "Quite a surprise was given Mrs. Sarah Boyer and her mother Mrs. J J. Rohrer, last Thursday, by about 16 neighbor friends. They had quite a social time. By reports all enjoyed themselves, as the surprise was as contemplated." [17] [18]

1896 Orville L Boyer, son of Samuel K Boyer and Sarah Rohrev, was born on July 18 in Wakarusa, Elkhart County, Indiana. Orville L Boyer, age 25, and Manila Price were married on March 4, 1921, in Elkhart County, Indiana. [19]

1900 Samuel K. Boyer (born September 1859) and Sarah Boyer (born March 1858) lived in Harrison Twp, Elkhart County, Indiana with children Laura Boyer (born Mar 1881), Nettie Boyer (born Mar 1886), Amanda Boyer (born Oct 1889), and Orville Boyer (born July 1896). [20] [21] [22]


1903 Sarah Boyer (1858-1903) died and was buried in Olive Cemetery, Wakarusa, Elkhart County, Indiana [23]

1903 Sarah Boyer, spouse of Samuel Boyer and daughter of Joseph Rohrer and Harriet Rohrer, died on September 20, 1903, at age 45, in Harrison Twp, Elkhart County, Indiana. Sarah Boyer was born on March 16, 1858, in Indiana. [24] [25]

1903 A death announcement for Sarah Boyer reported : [26] [27] [28] [29]:

Mrs. Sarah Boyer Dead. Mrs. Sarah Boyer, sister of Mrs. Andrew Miller of Elkhart, who lived seven miles southwest of Elkhart, died at her home at noon yesterday of consumption. Mrs. Boyer had been ill for three years, but had only been confined to the house one year. The funeral services will be held at the house at 1 o'clock tomorrow morning, Ret. Abraham Yoder officiating. The interment will be at Shaum's cemetery.

1903 Mortuary Record: "Sarah, wife of Samuel Boyer, died Sunday noon at her home in Harrison township, nine miles west of Goshen, of consumption. She had been ill about a year. She leaves a son nine years old. She was a daughter of Joseph Rohrer of South West. She was member of the Mennonite Brethren in Christ. The funeral will be held Tuesday at Shaum's church, north of Wakarusa, friends leaving the home at 10 am." [30] [31]

1903 Sarah Rohrer Boyer was buried at Olive Cemetery, Wakarusa, Elkhart County, Indiana. Sarah Rohrer Boyer was born in 1858. [32] [33]

1910 Samuel K Boyer and Mary Nusbaum were married on November 19 in Elkhart County, Indiana. [34] [35] [36]

1910 Son Orville L Boyer (age 13) was a brother-in-law living with Walter C Everest (age 27) and daughter Annetta Everest (age 24) in Concord, Elkhart County, Indiana. [37]

1910 Daughter Amanda Culp (age 22) and her husband Harvey Culp (age 26) lived in Olive Twp, Elkhart County, Indiana. [38]

1920 Samuel K Boyer (age 60) and Mary Boyer (age 47) lived in Concord Twp, Elkhart County, Indiana with Orville (age 23). [39]

1930 Samuel K Boyer (age 68) and Mary Boyer (age 58) lived in Waskarusa Twp, Elkhart County, Indiana. [40]

1935 Samuel K Boyer, married, son of Abraham Boyer and Anna Boyer, spouse of Mary Boyer, died on December 9, 1935, at age 76, in Ohio Twp, Elkhart County, Indiana. Samuel K Boyer was born on September 17, 1859, in Mahoning County, Ohio. [41]

1935 An obituary for Samuel K. Boyer reported [42] [43]:

Wakarusa, Indiana: Samuel K. Boyer, 76, died early this morning at the home of Mrs. Augusta Hirseman in Wakarusa from heart trouble and paralysis. Mr. Boyer had been in failing health for 12 years, and had lived with his wife, Mary, at the Hirseman home the last three years. He was born Sept. 17, 1859, in Mahoning county, Ohio, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Abe Boyer. At the age of 17 years he moved to Elkhart county with his parents and had lived in that vicinity since.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by the following children: Mrs.Walter Everest, Mrs. Harvey Culp, Mrs. James Whybrew, and Orville Boyer, all of Elkhart; 18 grandchildren; five great grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Samuel Troup, of 4 miles east of Wakarusa. Mr. Boyer was a charter member of the Bethel Mennonite Brethren in Christ church of 4 ½ miles northeast of Wakarusa.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, with a short prayer service at the Hirseman home at 1:30 p.m. and at 2 p.m. at the Mennonite Brethren in Christ church at Wakarusa. The Rev. A. B. Yoder of Goshen will officiate assisted by the Rev. O. L. Flesher of Wakarusa. Burial will be in the Olive cemetery, 5 miles north of Wakarusa.

1951 Orville L Boyer died on August 31, at age 55, in Franklin, Williamson County, Tennessee. He was born on July 18, 1896, son of Samuel Boyer and Sarah Rohrer. [44]
