1917 Walter Hoover registered for the draft at Indiana. [1]

1920 Walter Hoover (age 33) and Gladys Hoover (age 33) lived at Indianapolis, Indiana with Roger (age 7) and Margaret (age 4). [2]

1930 Walter Hoover (age 43) and Gladys Hoover (age 42) lived at Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana with Walter R (age 17), Margaret L (age 14), and Betty A (age 8). [3]

1942 Walter Hoover registered for the draft. [4]

1944 On May 27, Walter Denner Hoover died and was buried at Saint Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, St. Joseph County, Indiana. A biosketch reported [5]:

Walter Hoover was the son of Martin Hoover's second marriage. He graduate from Goshen High School approximately 1905. Helater attended Indiana University where he played on the I.U. Football team. Walter graduated 1911 from Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana. He soon secured a position as a chemist with Eli Lilly and Company of Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana. He resided at 68 Kenmore Road (house on the north east corner of Kenmore and Lowell), Irvington neighborhood, in Indianapolis. After more than 25 years he retired from Eli Lilly and Company as Head Chemist. He is still known for his work and research on insulin for diabetics. He then moved his family to 1361 Belmont Avenue, South Bend, St. Joseph County, Indiana. He resided at 1361 Belmont (corner of Belmont and Longfellow) in South Bend until his death in the hospital from Uremic poisoning on May 27, 1944.

1945 On December 15, Gladys B Hoover died and was buried at Saint Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, St. Joseph County, Indiana. [6]
