Notes for John Young and Sarah Jennings

1669 "Will of Richard Jennings of Smiths Tribe, May 16, 1669. Son Richard 4 shares of land and mansion house in Smiths. Son John two Shares in Smiths, one wharf in possession of son-in-law Anthony White; 1/2 share in use of tenant Thomas Griffin & 1/2 share in my own possession. Daughter Sarah Young her life time & and her husband's life time, the North side 2 half shares & to extend no further into that share of the said Anthony. The son in law John Young shall pay his brother in law John Jennings one pepper corn yearly if he demand it & shall make no wilful waste of timber or put awaie any of the land. Son Richard all the pictures and brass andirons belonging to the house. Granddaughter Elizabeth Young. Grandson Leonard White. Anthony White and his wife Elizabeth 20 /- each for remembrance. Sons Richard and John executors. Proved August 3, 1669, Henry Tucker Secretary. Notes. Anthony White mar. Elizabeth Jennings. John Young mar. Sarah Jennings. Testator devised 7 shares land in Smiths equal to 175 acres." [1]

1685 "Sale of 25 acres in Smiths Tribe from Sarah Young, widow of John Young Junr., deed to Thomas Outerbridge of Hamilton Tribe, shipwright. (Note: She had this land from her father Richard Jennings by will 1669)." [2]
