1885 DW Howard had land in sections 34 and 35 of Cheever Twp, Dickinson County, Kansas adjacent to the land of John Brenizer in the Fuller atlas.

1900 David Howard (born Mar 1837) and Mary Howard (born Dec 1844) lived in Abilene, Dickinson County, Kansas with son Herbert (born Jan 1878 in Kansas). They had been married 35 years. [1]

1913 David died. His obituary reports "Reflector: 13 Feb 1913; David Wesley Howard, b 19 Mar 1837 near Gettysburg, Adams County, Pennsylvania; m 21 Dec 1865, Mary Emma Chronister of York Springs, Pennsylvania; mov to Dick Co, 1872; settled in Cheever Twp; move to Abilene, 1877; d 5 Feb 1913; surv by wife; 3 ch, C. E. Howard of Fallon, Nev; Mrs. George Wallace of Denver; H. M. Howard of Abilene. Buried Union Cemetery."

1924 Mary died. Her obituary reports "Reflector Chronicle; 27 Nov 1924; Mary Emma Chronister, born 12 Dec 1844, York Springs, Pennsylvania; m 21 Dec 1865, David Wesley Howard of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania; had 3 ch; mov to Dick Co. 1872; with relatives Livingstons, Brenizers and Chronisters; settled near Buckeye; mov to Abilene, 1877; died 23 Nov 1924 at home of dau in Denver; surv by 3 ch, Charles E. Howard of Fallon, Nev; Lotta Wallace of Denver; Herbert M. Howard of Abilene; 1 sister in law, Mrs. M. K. Chronister. Buried in Union Cemetery."
