1879 Lizzie Olevia, daughter of David N Ertel and his wife Annie, was born on June 12 in Center County, Pennsylvania, and baptized on October 12 in the Rebersburg church by W. H. Stover. [1]

1879 Annie Ertel, born on September 15, 1861, was baptized on Novembeer 2 in the Rebersburg church by W. H. Stover. [2]

1881 Annie Regina, daughter of David Ertel and his wife Annie was born on January 18 in Center County, Pennsylvania, and baptized on May 15 in the Rebersburg church by W. H. Stover. [3]

1884 Elias Franklin, son of David N. and Annie Ertel was born on April 3rd and baptized on June 15th in the Rebersburg church by P. C. Weidemeyer. [4]

1900 On June 20, "E. N." Ertel (age 47, born Oct 1852) and his wife Anna Ertel (age 38, born September 1881) lived in Buffalo Twp, Jewell County, Kansas, with their children Lizzie Ertel (age 21, born June 1879), Anna Ertel (age 19, born January 1881), Elias Frank Ertel (age 16, born April 1884), Goldie Ertel (age 14, born May 1886), Alice Ertel (age 10, born December 1889), Minnie Ertel (age 8, born October 1891), Albert Ertel (age 7, January 1893), and Nina Ertel (age 3, born April 1897). A boarder W. A. Pierce (age 31) also lived in the household. E. N. and Anna and their parents were born in Pennsylvania. Mr. Ertel's occupation was hotel keeper, and he and Anna had been married for 21 years. Anna had had 10 children and 8 were living. Lizzie, Anna and Elias were born in Pennsylvania. The younger children were born in Kansas. [5]

1910 On April 22, David N. "Ertle" (age 58) and his wife Anna (age 49) lived in Valley Falls, Delaware Township, Jefferson County, Kansas, with their children Alice J. (age 20), Minnie R. (age 18), Albert M. (age 16), Nina M. (age 13), Lida P. (age 6), and Goldie Legun (age 23). David and Anna and their parents were born in Pennsylvania. The children were born in Kansas. David was a jeweler, Alice was a teacher in a public school, Minnie was a saleslady in a dry goods store, and Albert was a typesetter in a printing office. David and Anna had been married for 32 years. Anna had had 11 children and 8 were living. Goldie had been married for 4 years and had had 2 children and 1 was living. [6]

1924 Anna Long Ertel died on December 2 and was buried in Jewell City Cemetery, Jewell, Jewell County, Kansas. Her side of the Ertel monument states, "Mother, Anna, Sept 15 1861, Dec 2 1924." [7]

1933 David Nathaniel Ertel died on December 27 and was buried in Jewell City Cemetery, Jewell, Jewell County, Kansas, with his wife Anna. His side of the Ertel monument states, "Father David N., Oct 25 1852, Dec 27 1933." [8]
