1817 John Ruhel and wife Catharine of Shrewsbury Twp sold land to John Grove on July 6. Henry Ruhel, father of John, had received a patent for the land, called "Pleasant Ridge" on June 25, 1810 (Patent P4-204). The land was originally surveyed for Robert Freeland.
