Notes for Sygmund George Paradin and Victoria Joan Tytus

1913 Balbina Paradzinska and her four children left Hamburg on 1 May 1913 on the ship Amerika and arrived in New York on 10 May 1913 [1]. Balbina was age 32 and the four children were daughters Eufenia (age 14), Stanislawa (age 11), and Genowefa (age 3) and son Zigmund (age 1½). They were Polish and had been living in Suszin in Russia. They were going to join Balbina's husband and the children's father, Walenti Paradzinski, in Maspeth, NY at 155 "Keentoneone" Str.

1918 Victoria, daughter of Michael and Jadwiga Titusz, was born on August 14. Her birth certificate gives her name as Tilly Titusz, place of birth 39 Green St, Jersey City, father Mike Fitusz born in Poland, age 44, occupation labor, mother Louise Zuckowska born in Poland, age 35, occupation wife, number of children born to this marriage 7, number of children living 4. Victoria's birth certificate was amended on October 7, 1940, to give her name as Victoria, the name of the family as Titusz, her father's name as Michael, and her mother's name as Hedwig. The correction certificate was signed Mihcael Titus. [2]

1930 Sigmond Paradenski (age 17) and his mother, widow Anna Paradenski (age 59), lived at 43 Hudson Street in Jersey City, Hudson, New Jersey. They and their parents were born in Poland. Sigmond was a machinist. [3]

1933 Sygmund G. Paradinski (age 21) and Eufennia Paradinski (age 2?) arrived in New York on the ship Samaria sailing from Cherbourg. They lived at 328 Graham Ave. Brooklyn, NY. [4]

1940 Sigmund Paradinski (age 29) lived at 74 Essex Street in Jersey City, Hudson, New Jersey with his mother Barbara Paradinski (age 64) and uncle Dominic Nyskowski (age 60). All three had lived at the same place in 1935 and were born in Poland. Sigmund was a naturalized citizen of the United States. [5]

1942 Sygmund George Paradin and Victoria Tytus were married on March 17 in Jersey City, Hudson County, New Jersey.

1941-1946 Sygmund George Paradin was a Lt. Cmdr. in the U.S. Navy. He and Michael Tytus, Vickie's brother, were in the Navy together. An article about Sygmund's participation in a work tennis tournament describes his World War II service.

1947 Sygmund George Paradin received a B.S., Hudson College, Jersey City, New Jersey.

1950 Sigmund G. Paradin (age 38) and his wife Victoria J. Paradin (age 32) lived at 15 E. Central Ave in Bergenfield, Bergen County, New Jersey, with their daughters Patricia J. Paradin (age 7) and Virginia L. Paradin (age 5) and son Joseph M. Paradin (age 2). Sigmund was an office manager in an electrical company and was born in Poland. Victoria and the children were born in New Jersey. [7]

1951 Lt. Sygmund G. Paradin was the commanding officer of the military group on the Navy oil tanker U. S. N. S. Mission Los Angeles.

1952 On 11 July, Lieutenant Sygmund G. Paradin arrived in New York on the ship General A W Greely. His next of kin was Mrs. Victoria J. Paradin living at 15 E Central Ave, Bergenfield, N.J. [9]

1930-1974 Sygmund George Paradin worked at Western Electric in NYC.

1953 Lt. Sygmund G. Paradin was welcomed back to the 10th Naval Reserve in Jersey City on April 14 after his service during the Korean War.

1982 Victoria Paradin, born August 14, 1918, died on January 14. She lived in Brick Township, Ocean County, New Jersey. [11] An obituary states,
