1831 Mary Jane Pickett was born on March 9 in Georgia. [1]

1850 Mary Pickett (age 18, born in South Carolina) lived in Jackson Twp, Darke County, Ohio, in the household of William K Marquis (age 55), Polly Marquis (age 56), Wm Marquis (age 18), John Marquis (age 15), and Elizabeth Marquis (age 12), which was listed adjacent to her parent's household. [2] Mary's brother, Isaiah, had recently married a daughter, also named Mary, of William K Marquis. Mary's brother Isaiah and wife were living in the household of Mary's parents. Perhaps Mary Pickett was staying in the room that her sister-in-law Mary Marquis had lived in before she married Isaiah.

1853 Clark Fowler and Mary Jane Pickett were married on July 11 in Darke County, Ohio, by J. Burhkolder. [3] [4]

1860 Clark Fowler (age 29) and Mary Fowler (age 27) lived in Lacon, Marshall County, Illinois with Jas (age 5) and Erwin (age 1). [5]

1870 Clark Fowler (age 39) and Mary J (age 38) lived in Franklin, Clarke County, Iowa with children Edwin (age 11), Eugene (age 8), Lillian (age 5), and Nettie (age 2). Clark was a wagonmaker. All children were listed as born in Illinois, except Nettie, born Iowa. [6] [7]

1880 Clark Fowler (age 49) and Mary J (age 57) lived in Brookdale Twp, Rush County, Kansas. Clark was a farmer. Children were Daniel E (age 21), Eugene T (age 18), Lilian M (age 15), Violet A (age 12), and Daisy M (age 9). Wife Mary was born in Georgia, her parents were both born in South Carolina. [8]

1885 Clark Fowler and Mary J Fowler lived in Hope, Dickinson County, Kansas with children D.E (age 26) and T.E. (age 23) and Daisy (age 14, born Iowa). Mary J was born in South Carolina. [9]

1889 Daughter Daisy M Fowler and Ermon Jacobs were married in Dickinson County, Kansas. [10]

1895 Clark Fowler and Mary Fowler lived in Hope, Dickinson County, Kansas with no children. [11]

1900 Clark Fowler (born Oct 1830 in Ohio) and Mary J Fowler (born Mar 1831 in Georgia) had been married for 47 years and lived in Hope Twp, Dickinson County, Kansas. Five of Mary's 7 children were still alive. [12] [13]

1905 Clark Fowler and Mary J Fowler lived in Lost Springs, Kansas. [14]

1907 Clark Fowler died on November 20, 1907 and was buried at Lost Springs Cemetery, Lost Springs, Marion County, Kansas. Clark Fowler was born on October 2, 1830. [15] [16]

1910 Mary J Fowler (age 79) lived with niece Kate Pickett in Lost Springs, Kansas. Nearby was the family of son T.E. Fowler. [17]

1915 Mary Fowler (age 84) lived with the family of daughter Lillian Fowler Waylan in Lost Springs, Kansas. [18]

1918 Mary Jane Pickett Fowler died on January 2, 1918 and was buried at Lost Springs Cemetery, Lost Springs, Marion County, Kansas. Mary Jane Pickett Fowler was born on March 9, 1831. [19] [20] [21]

Research Notes:

Wanda Wilson reported that "Clark and Mary (Picket) Fowler, were born in the 1830s. They came from Ohio with their family and finally settled in Lost Springs, Marion County, Kansas on land that either Clark or his father Daniel received for service in the Civil War."
