1835 Henry Greenawalt died on August 12, 1835 and was buried at Grace United Methodist Church Cemetery Millersville (near Manor Twp), Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. "In memory, Henry Greenawalt, Born March 14, 1791. Died Aug 12, 1835, aged 44 years, 4 mos and 28 days" [4]
1835-1836 Elizabeth Greenawalt, widow of Henry Greenawalt late of Manor Twp, Lancaster County, petitioned the Orphans Court stating that "her said husband died intestate 27th August 1835 leaving five children viz Susan age about 16 years Cathaarine 11 Elisabeth 8 Mary 6 & Henry 2 who are without guardians." Widow Elizabeth was appointed guardian for Susan and Henry while Jacob Schenck was appointed guardian for the others. The petition is repeated in the November 1835 and the in February 1836 records. 1836 John Bortzfield and George Kredy, administrators of Henry Greenawalt, carpenter, late of Manor Twp, Lancaster County, gave their account of the estate to the Orphans Court in June, showing a balance of $762.84. [7]
1836 On September 2, Jacob Wise, having achieved age 21, released Henry Brenneman and Jacob Bortzfield, executors of the estate of Jacob Wise of Manor Twp, Lancaster County. [8]
1836 Elizabeth Greenawalt, widow of Henry Greenawalt, late of Manor Twp deceased, received payment from John Bortzfield and George Kredy, administrators of Henry Greenawalt's estate, on September 3, thereby releasing the administrators from further claims. [9] Jacob Shenk; as guardian of Catharine, Elizabeth, and Mary Greenawalt; and Elizabeth Greenawalt, as guardian of Susanna and Henry Greenawalt, also released the administrators. [10]
1840 Jacob Shenk, guardian of Catharine, Elizabeth, and Mary, presented his account to the Orphans Court in June. [11] [12]
1840 Elizabeth, widow of Henry, requested that the Orphans Court appoint Jacob H. Gamber, since Jacob Shenk had withdrawn as guardian, as guardian of Elizabeth and Mary. Catharine requested the same guardian. [13]
1840 The heirs of Henry Greenawalt petitioned the Orphans Court to evaluate the estate. Daughter Susan was married to Isaac Miller. After evaluation, widow Elizabeth refused to purchase the estate at the evaluation price and it was sold to Isaac Miller on January 18, 1841. [14]
