1815 Christian was named as a son in the will of Abraham Greenawalt of Manor Twp, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, dated October 6, 1808. The children may have been named in birth order. [3] [Photocopy, Extract of Abraham Greenawalt's will.]

... and I order that all my children shall have equal share out of my estate to wit Abraham Greenawald, Jacob Greenawald, Elizabeth the wife of George Albert, Christopher Greenawald, Susanna the wife of Henry Shoff, Christian Greenawald, Michael Greenawald, John Greenawald, Henry Greenawald, and Peter Greenawald each of them an equal share.

1820 Christian Greenewatt lived in North Huntingdon, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania in a household with Males: 2 (age Under 10), and 1 (age 26 thru 44); Females: 3 (age Under 10), 2 (age 10 thru 15), and 1 (age 26 thru 44). [4]

1840 Christian Greenwald lived in Sewickley, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania in a household with Males: 1 (age 5 thru 9), 2 (age 15 thru 19), 1 (age 20 thru 29), and 1 (age 60 thru 69); Females: 1 (age 15 thru 19), 1 (age 20 thru 29), and 1 (age 50 thru 59). [5] [6]

1850 Christian Greenwalt (age 70, born in Pennsylvania) lived in Sewickley, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania with Hannah Greenwalt (age 60), Joseph Edmondson (age 18), and Hannah J Kenderson (age 17). [7] [8]

1851 Christian Greenawalt wrote his will [9] [10] [11]:

In the name of God amen I Christian Greenawalt of Sewickley Township Westmoreland County, Pa. Being advanced in years but of sound mind and memory, and being desirous to arrange my temporal affairs during my lifetime do make and ordain this as my last will and Testament. In the first place I direct my Executor to have me buried in a decenant and Christian like manner, and as soon as convenient after my decease The said Exrs are directed to make sale of such personal property as my wife will not need and out of the funds arising from the sale to pay my funeral expenses, Doctors bill and all my just debts and whatever balance my be left to be applied to the use and support of my wife Hannah during her natural life. My real estate with all the appurtenances of the residences of my personal at the death of my said wife the whole of the property both real and personal is to be equally divided among my children then living. I also will and direct that my wife shall not squander or unnecessarily dispose of any of the personal effects left for her use. I also direct that there should not be any lawsuit among my Heirs, but of any difficulty should arise it is to be referrd to three judicious neighbours whose decision shall be final. And lastly I appoint my wife Hannah and William Carothers my Executors of this my last will, signed in our presence each signing in presence of the other and in presence of Testater.

1854 January 24 Legally proved same day recorded. Death registered. Hannah Greenawalt one of the Executors named in the will declined to act. And Letters Testamentary issued to Wm E. Caruthers, the other Executor named, who was sworn before E.I. Keenan Dep. Regr.

1854 Christian Greenawalt, carpenter, died in Sewickley Twp, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, on January 7, 1854, at age 82, and was buried at Old Mars Hill Cemetery, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. His spouse was Hanna and his living issue were Jac., Wm., Jno, Danl, Eliza, Mary, Susan, Sarah, Nancy, Margaret, and Martha. [12]

1860 Hannah Greenawalt (age 70, born in Pennsylvania) lived in Sewickley Twp, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, at post office Fulton, with Jacob Thompson (age 49), Nancy Thompson (age 45), and Harilah D Thompson (age 14). [13]

1866 Heirs of Christian Greenawalt sold land from Christian's estate in Westmoreland County, to Henry Shumaker, on May 10, 1866. The heirs were Hannah Greenawalt relict of Christian Greenawalt deceased late of Sewickly township Westmoreland County, John Clubine and wife Mary (Greenawalt), widow Liza (Greenawalt) Henderson, widow Susana (Greenawalt) Dinsmore, John H Willingsmyer and wife Sarah (Greenawalt), Israel Strube and wife Margaret (Greenawalt), William Greenawalt, Jacob Thompson and wife Nancy (Greenawalt), Simon Highberger and wife Martha (Greenawalt), John Greenawalt, and Daniel Greenawalt. Jacob Greenawalt was their attorney. Jacob Greenawalt and wife Ann were also heirs of Christian. Christian Greenawalt had purchased the land in 1835 by decree of the Orphans' Court. [14]

1870 Hannah Greenawalt (age 82, born in Pennsylvania) lived in Sewickley, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, at post office Yohoghany, with Jacob Thompson (age 60), Nancy Thompson (age 54), Dallas Thompson (age 24), and Clara Reed (age 11). [15]

1874 Hannah Greenawalt died in Sewickley Twp, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.
