c 1765 Daniel Bailey and his brother Jacob moved to Shrewsbury Twp, York County, Pennsylvania.

1766 On 4 August, Daniel Bailey and Hugh Mullen made application [1] for land in Managhan Twp, York County [2]. A survey dated July 1786 showed two parts, one for Daniel Bailey and Hugh McMullen and another for Sarah Peppen and Hugh McMullen [3] A survey dated July 1786 showed two parts, for the heirs of Daniel Bailey, one for Sarah Pippens and one for Hugh McMullin [4]. A resurvey in 1821 showed both portions, for Sarah Peppen. and 18 acres for Daniel Bailey, both with Hugh McMullen [5] [6]. Might this be a brother?

1767 On 27 October, Daniel Bailey warranted 116 acres in Newberry Twp, York County. [10] [11] Adjacent landowners were David Ritcheson, Peter Nave, Richard Peters, and William Pasemore. [12] He received a patent for the land on November 28, 1767. [13]

1769 Daniel and Wendle Heys surveyed 126.8 acres in Shrewsbury Twp (they resurveyed 97.48 acres on 22 June, 1798).

1769 On 27 March, Daniel Bailey, warranted 200 acres in Shrewsbury Twp, York County, application 5386. The tract was surveyed as Bayleys Plains for 191.95 acres. The tract was patented to George Hamscher on 19 Oct, 1791. [14]

1769 Anna Rosina Bohly, daughter of Jacob and Eva Elisabetha Bohly, was born on March 27, 1769. She was baptized, with sponsors Daniel and Anna Rosina Bohly, on May 28, 1769 at St. Jacobs Stone Lutheran and Reformed Church, Brodbecks, Codorus Twp, York County, Pennsylvania. [15]

1776 Daniel Bailey was in Captain John Miller's Third Company, York County Militia. [16]

1780 During the Revolutionary War, Daniel Baley was a private in Captain Aquila Wiley's Company of the York County Militia [19].

1783 Daniel Bailey was taxed for 10 acres and 2 inhabitants in Shrewsbury Twp, York County.

1785 On 6 August, Daniel Bailey, yeoman, and wife Anna Rosina, of Shrewsbury Twp, sold sold 191 acres in Shrewsbury Twp to George Hamsher for 5 pounds and for one third of the produce for the remainder of the lives of Daniel Bailey and his wife. The land had been surveyed for Daniel Bailey and was originally improved by Ludwig Hanawalt, who sold it to Daniel Bailey on 28 November, 1768. [24]

1786 Daniel Bailey was listed in the septennial census for Shrewsbury, York County, Pennsylvania. Jacob Bailey was listed on the same page. [25]

1789 On 30 September, Daniel Bailey warranted 25 acres in Shrewsbury Twp, York County (interest beginning 1 July 1788). The land was surveyed on 21 June and patented on 8 Nov, 1808. Adjacent landowners were George Homscher, Wendle Heise, and Michael Krout. [26] [27] [28] [29]

1794 Daniel Bailey and wife Ann, of Newbury Twp, York County, sold land to Edward Tyler, which Daniel had patented on 30 November, 1768. [30]

1798 John, Jacob, George, and Daniel Bailey were all named in the U.S. direct tax list for Shrewsbury Twp, York County. [31]

1800 Daniel Bailey and female, both age 26-44, lived in Shrewsbury Twp, York County, Pennsylvania. [32]

1809 On March 4, Daniel and Rosina Bailey, of Shrewsbury Twp, York County, made a deed transferring a tract named "Baileys Borrow" to the widow and heirs of Jacob Baker. [33]

1811 The will of Daniel Böhly [Bailey] stated that he had no issue and was dated 5 June, 1798 and was proved 21 January, 1811 with executors friend Henry Ruhl and wife Rosina Bohly in Shrewsbury Twp, York County, Pennsylvania. Witnessed by John Morris and John Wolff. [34] [35]

1815 Rosanna Baily's will was written 28 April and was probated 2 May by Henry Ruhl and George Frederick in Shrewsbury Twp, York County, Pennsylvania. The will named Jacob, Henry, and Lydia Baker; Jacob Ruhel [Ruhl], Rosanna Baker; Henry Ruhel [Ruhl], Eve Baker. Executors Henry Ruhl and George frederick. Witnessed by William Marshall and Adam Baker. [36]

Research Notes:

Lydia Eichelberger, daughter of Leonard and Elizabeth Smyser Eichelberger, married Daniel Bailey. [37]

Rosina's name could be Hoell because Daniel and Rosina Bailey were sponsors on baptisms of the Hoell family at Zion Moselem Church in Richmond Twp.
