Research Notes:

Michael and John Klinefelter, as executors for the will of Michael Homan deceased, applied for 100 acres in trust for Gotleib Homan, infant son of Michael [25]. The land joined Martin Miller, Valentine Smeltzer, and Peter Smith in Shrewsbury Twp, York County. [26] Patented 1 November, 1864 by Christian Hershey.

Anna Margaretha Koller has also been named as the spouse of John Kleinfelter. We seek further evidence concerning this possibility.

c 1736 John Kleinfelter was born in Hanover, Germany. [27] [28]

1769 Daughter Anna Elizabeth was reported born and baptized in the local church. [no documentation seen]

1790 Henry Clofilter lived in Shrewsbury Twp, York County, Pennsylvania, in a household with 3 males under age 16, 1 males age 16 and over, and 3 females. [29]

Perhaps JOhn lived with son Jacob. [30]

1810 The Klinefelter homestead became a place of preaching. There was a falling out between the Evangelical Church and the Klinefelter family. Margaret was not allowed to be buried at the church, started by her husband, because the council determined that she had fallen away from the faith. She was buried in a field on the homestead. A cemetery was started at her grave and Klinefelter's chapel was built nearby. [31]

1813 Margaret Klinefelter, consort of John Klinefelter, was buried at Kleinfelter-Seitz Burial Ground, York County, Pennsylvania, "who departed this life May 16, 1813, aged 75 years, 10 months, and 15 days". [32] [33]

Uncertainties: There may be several John Klinefelter families confused here. Some researchers report John Klinefelter (spouse of Anna Margaret Gerberich) to be the son of Peter Klinefelter (spouse of Elizabeth Kunkle) while others report him to be the brother of Peter. The Sons of Kunkel reports John, son of Peter, to be married to Anna Margaretta Koller. I do not know which, if any, is correct.
