Notes for John Huber and Esther Senseny

John Huber, son of Martin and his first wife, married Esther Senseny. [1]

1811 John Musser Huber died on March 11 and was buried at Salem United Brethren Church Cemetery, Chambersburg, Franklin County, Pennsylvania. John Musser Huber was born on March 25, 1750. [2] [3]

"28.--John Huber 12, born in Earl Twp, Lancaster County, Pa., Mar. 25, 1750; died at Rocky Spring, Franklin County, Pa., in 1811; m. (Jan. 30, 1774) Esther Senseny: born Jan. 30, 1754; died 1824. Mennonite; farmer; res., Franklin County, Pa. Issue: 96 Esther; 97 Anna; 98 John; 99 David; 100 Samuel; 101 Benjamin; 102 Abraham; 103 Fanny; 104 Sarah. John Huber went to Franklin County, between 1770 and 1780 and was among the first to open his home to the early United Brethren preachers. His descendants are the only branch of the Hans-Huber clan that retain the original spelling of the name "Huber." The others have changed to "Hoover." In the "Biographical annals of Franklin County" Esther Senseny, the wife of John Huber, is said to be the daughter of Dr. Abr. Senseny. This is an error as Esther was born in 1754 and Dr. Abr. Senseny was born in 1761. They were no doubt brother and sister. Dr. Senseny married a daughter of Frederick Huber, a Palatinate, who served in the Revolution and while in the army contracted a fever and died in a Philadelphia Hospital. His wife visited him while there and contracting the same disease, died also." [4]
