1882 Marie Parmélie Phaneuf, daughter of Jean-Baptiste Phaneuf "cultivateur" and his wife Rosalie Caron, was born on January 1 and baptized on Janurary 2 in St-Barnabé Sud, St-Hyacinthe, Québec, Canada. [1]

1898 Joseph Larivière and Elise Elmeria Lamoureux were married on September 5 at St-Jude, St-Hyacinthe, Québec, Canada.

1900 On June 8, Joseph Lariviere (age 21, born May 1879) was a boarder in the household of J.B. Marchand in Ward 3, Burlington, Chittenden County, Vermont. He and his parents were born in Canada. Joseph and Mr. Marchand were carpenters. Joseph immigrated to the U.S. in 1900. [2]

1902 Joseph Larivière, living in the parish of St Joseph in Burlington, Vermont, widower of Elise Lamoureux, and Parmelie Phaneuf, daughter of the late Jean Baptiste Phaneuf and Rosalie Caron, were married on October 10 in St-Barnabé Sud, St-Hyacinthe, Québec, Canada. [4]

1910 On April 20, Joseph LaRiviere, age 30, carpenter, and his wife Parmelia, age 29, were living in Burlington City, Chittenden County, Vermont, with Joseph's daughter Eva (age 10), and their daughters Bernadetta (age 6), Beatrice (age 5), Irene (age 2), and Ursela (age 10/12). Joseph and Parmelia had been married 8 years and had had 5 children (4 living). Joseph, Parmelia, and Eva were born in Canada French, with parents born in Canada French, the other children were born in Vermont. Joseph immigrated to the U.S. in 1899, Parmelia and Eva in 1902. Joseph's language was French. [5]

1916 In the City Directory of Burlington, Vermont, Joseph Lariviere, carpenter, lived at 87 Rose (p. 188).

1918 Joseph Lariviere registered for the draft in Burlington, Chittenden County, Vermont on September 12. His WWI draft registration lists him as Joseph Lariviere, age 39, born 21 May 1879, permanent address 87 Rose, Burlington, Chittenden, Vermont, occupation carpenter with the U.S. government, nearest relative Parmelia Lariviere, tall, stout, black eyes, black hair. [6] In the 1918 City Directory of Burlington, Vermont, Joseph Lariviere, carpenter, lived at 87 Rose (p. 184).

1920 On January 14, Joseph LaRiviere (age 40) and his wife Pamelia (age 38) lived in Burlington, Chittenden, Vermont, with daughters Bernadette (age 16), Beatrice (age 15), Irene (age 12), Ursula (age 10), Cecile (age 8), sons Phillip (age 6), and Oscar (age 4 6/12), and daughter Martha (age 2 11/12), all born in Vermont. Joseph and Pamelia and their parents were born in Canada (French). Joseph was a carpenter and daughter Bernadette was a dipper in a candy factory. [7]

1930 On April 5, Joseph LaRiviere (age 50) and his wife "Parmepar" (age 48) lived in Burlington, Chittenden, Vermont, with daughters Irene (age 22), Ursula (age 20), Cecile (age 18), sons Phillip (age 16), and Oscar (age 14), daughters Martha (age 13), and Annette (age 7), son Edmond (age 5), and daughter Theresa (age 3 8/12). Joseph and his wife and their parents were born in Canada (French). All of the children were born in Vermont. Joseph was a carpenter and daughters Irene, Ursula, and Cecile were stenographers in the insurance industry. [8]

1934 Joseph Lariviere died on March 13. His death certificate lists his age as 54 years, 9 months, and 20 days, his usual residence as 16 Murray Street, his parents as Joseph and Marie Lariviere, and his spouse as Pamela Lariviere. [9]

1969 Parmelia Lariviere died on June 1 in Fanny Allen Hospital in Colchester, Chittenden County, Vermont. Her death record lists her age as 87, her residence as Burlington, Chittenden County, Vermont, her father's name as Alfred Phaneuf and her mother's name as Philomene Caron. [10]
