Notes for Johannes Ebersole and Salome

1770 The will of John Ebersole was dated 28 March and was probated 17 April in Rapho Twp, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. The will was written in High Dutch and named wife Salome Ebersole and children Joseph and Christian. Executor Christian Holteman. [1] [2] [3]

1775 On May 3, The executors of the will of John Ebersol, late of Rapho Twp, Lancaster County; Christian Haldeman, Jacob Hausser, and Jacob Schneider; sold 143 acres of John's estate to (son) Yost Ebersole [4]. The tract of 200 acres was patented by John Ebersole on 27 January 1763 [5] John left part of that tract to son Yost Obersol (Joseph Obersol). The land was next to other land of John Ebersol deceased, Henry Culp, and Jacob Cookerly and to Chickasolunga Creek. Witnessed by Adam Orth and Cas Shaffner. [6]

1780 On May 15, Jacob Hausser and Jacob Snider, executors of the will of John Ebersol of Rapho Twp, sold land to son Christian Ebersol. One tract of 200 acres was patented by John Ebersole on 27 January 1763. [7] Another tract of 300 acres was patented by John Ebersole on 10 January 1760. A parcel of 143 acres was bequeathed to son Yost from the first tract. The remainder was divided into three parcels divided among sons Christian, who got the parcel with the buildings; Abraham, who got the parcel along Samuel Scott's line; and Joseph, who got the parcel along Jacob Snider's line. The heirs and widow nominated the executors to carry out the division on 26 April 1780. Signed 1785. [8] [9] [10] [11]

1794 The will of Salome Eversole was dated July 9 and was probated July 21, 1794 in Rapho Twp, Lancaster County. The will bequeathed equal 1/8th shares to children Christian, Jacob, Abraham, Peter, Feronica, Elizabeth, the children of Yost (deceased), and Salome wife of Frederick Sauser. Son-in-law Christian Brand was named executor. [12]
