Notes for Hans Jacob Brubaker and Klianna Hiestand

Research Notes:

We are researching the parents of Anna Brubaker, spouse of Hans Meyer. Both of two brothers have been suggested as the father of Ann Brubaker: Hans Heinrich Bruppacher, spouse of Elisabeth Rusterholtz, and Hans Jacob Brubaker, spouse of Klianna Heistand. We seek evidence to clarify this relationship.

1631 Hans Jacob Brubacher was born 9 Oct 1631, in Hirzel. [1]

1638 Klianna Hiestandwas born about 1638. [2] [3]

1646 Hans Jacob Brubacher began his apprenticeship as a shoemaker at Männedorf. [4]
1661 With his wife and father, Hans Jacob Brubacher moved to Ibersheim in the Pfalz from Alsace before 1661. [5]

1658 Hans Jacob Brubacher may have arrived in Ibersheim about 1658, shortly before his marriage as his wife was already living at Ibersheim in 1657, according to Richterswil, Zürich record. [6] [7]

c1658 Hans Jacob Brubacher married Klianna Hiestand, daughter of Hans Hiestand in about 1658, probably at Ibersheim. [8] [9]

1661 Hans Jacob Brubacher signed a letter in 1661 with his brother Hans Heinrich as hereditary tenants living at Ibersheim to Elector Karl Ludwig asking for help in obtaining their inheritance of their mother Anna Pfister in Wädenswil. The Zürich authorities denied their request because they would not deny their Anabaptist religion. [10]

1661 Hans Jacob Brubacher had two children by 1661 and at least one other daughter Anna who was born in about 1669 which would indicate that he probably had more children as well. [11]

1678 Hans Jacob and Klianna may have had children born up until about 1678, when Klianna was age about 40. [12]

1683 Hans Jacob Brubacher died before 1683 in Ibersheim, Germany. [13]
Hans Jacob Brubacher was an Anabaptist. [14]

1683 Hans Jacob Brubacher was not listed on the 1683 tenant list for Ibersheim. [15]

Son Hans Brubaker, died 1725 in Manheim Twp, Lancaster County, origin Wadenswil, Zürich, Switzerland, was haplogroup R1b1b2a1b4. [16]
