Martha Jeanne Reichardt, (known by family and friends as Schaf), 94, of Sheridan died peacefully on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at the Sheridan Memorial Hospital. She was born in Kansas City, KS on February 2, 1918 and raised in Fort Collins, CO, the beloved only daughter of Raymond Walter Schafer and Ethel Marie (Boyce) Schafer, both of KS. Schaf graduated with a degree in business from Colorado University, where she was also active in the Alpha Chi Omega Sorority. Following graduation, she began working in Denver, CO.

On August 3, 1941, she married William H. Reichardt, a chemical engineer with the Gates Rubber Company. They raised two daughters, Dianne Wyatt and Terri Martin, and Schaf later worked as a representative for a merchandising group at TMG. Bill and Schaf designed and built their own home in Englewood, CO, where they lived together until Bill died in 1982. Together, they enjoyed family life with their two daughters, a dog, and many close friends. Bill and Schaf spent their time involved in many activities together, including golf, bridge, various clubs, skiing, and travel.

Schaf moved to Sheridan in 2003 to be close to her daughter, Dianne. She very much enjoyed getting to know the community while participating in local bridge games, PEO, painting and taking classes at Sheridan College. She especially appreciated Sheridan's friendly and welcoming atmosphere, and enjoyed the opportunities to live an artistic and creative life.
