1717 Ulrich Brackbill immigrated on 24 August 1717 to Philadelphia, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.

"Rev. Ulrich Brackbill, who in 1717 sold his farn in the Weilers, Switzerland, for the equivalent of $630 American money, and purchased tickets to England, thence to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the ocean passage costing $26.66 for each member of the party. From Philadelphia, Rev. Ulrich Brackbill journeyed to Lancaster county, located in what is now Strasburg township, and there he cleared and cultivated until his death, which occurred April 27, 1720. He was a man of good education, possessed a fine voice, and was well known in the neighborhood as preacher, singer, and farmer. He married in Switzerland, and came to Pennsylvania accompanied by his wife, only child, a son, Ulrich." [1]
