Recorded the 2nd day of August A.D. 1797.

1797 On Aug 2, acknowledged receipt of 697 pounds 5.5 pence, as settlement of personal estate of father, from Benjamin Musser and John Engel, executors of the estate, and 1500 pounds as settlement of real esate of father. [5]

1801 Henry Musser purchased 205 acres of land along the Susquehanna river near Bainbridge in Donegal Twp; paid 4000 pounds in gold and silver specie, perhaps obtained from family of first wife. [6]

1804 Elizabeth Seitz Musser died on 12 January. [7]

1820 Henry Musser purchased additional land. [8]

1822 Henry Musser agreed to sell 124 acres of land in Donegal Twp to son Jacob in a deed dated May 1. [9]

1822 Henry Musser agreed to sell 124 acres of his first purchased land to eldest son Jacob, but payment had not been completed by the time of Henry's death. By court action, Jacob paid the remaining money to the estate. [10]

1822 Heinrich Musser purchased a Lancaster Quarto German Bible for eldest son, Jacob. [11]

estate administered by John Longnecker and John Engle Jr. [12]

1823 Henry Engle was appointed guardian for Benjamin and Ann, minor children under the age of 14 of Henry Musser, deceased of Donegall township, on the petition of widow Mary Musser to the Lancaster County Orphans Court on June 23. [13]

1824 Son Jacob completed purchase of 124 acres of land in Donegal Twp on May 26. [14]

1826 Henry Musser, second son of Henry Musser, deceased, petitioned the Lancaster Orphans Court in March to partition the estate. Henry Musser, deceased, of Donegal Twp, had died after April 19, 1794, leaving widow Mary, since intermarried with Jacob Hershey, and six children: Jacob, Henry, Benjamin, who has Henry Engle for his guardian, the two former being of age, Susanna intermarried with John Gish, Magdalena intermarried with Michael Hoffman, & Anne under age who has the said Henry Engle as her guardian. The estate included land adjacent to lands of Henry Groff, Frederick Bower, Henry Shock, & Henry Huber in Donegal Twp, lots in Marietta, and lots in the Village of Maytown. [15]

1825 Jacob Musser paid a mortgage due to Jacob Engle, Henry Engle, and Mary Musser-Hershey. Jacob Engle had been appointed as guardian of two of the minor children of Henry Musser; Henry Engle had been appointed as guardian of two other minor children. Mary, widow of Henry Musser had since married Jacob Hershey. Mary was named as the widow of Henry Musser but was not specifically named as a sister of Jacob and Henry Engle in this deed. The land was adjacent to lands of Alexander Boggs on the road from Marietta to Maytown on the banks of the Susquehanna. [16] Perhaps this was land that Jacob Engle, Henry Engle, and Mary Engle had inherited from their father, as described in the 1796 will of Ulrich Engle. However, see the Research Notes for uncertainties about the parents of this Mary Engle.

Conflict: Mennonite Vital Records report two different spouses for Henry Musser (Apr 4, 1776 - 1822). Which is correct, if either? We show Henry Musser married to Maria Engle, daughter of Ulrich Engle and Magdalena Bixler.

Henry married Maria Engle (Nov 2 1776), daughter of John Engle and Elizabeth Shock. [17]

Henry married Mary Engle, daughter of Ulrich Engle and Magdalena Bixler. [18]
