Notes for Henrich Sheibly and Elizabeth Wenger

1745 On 4 July, Elizabeth Wenger was born. [1]

1794 On 5 June, Elizabeth Wenger Scheibly died. [2]

"After Elizabeth's death, Henry married Elizabeth Miller on 24 Feb 1795 (born 13 June 1763, died 10 May 1845, daughter of George & Mary (Zeigler) Miller). Some records give Henry Sheibly's dates born 1-11-1747 died 1-11-1818, and Elizabeth's birthdate as 1765. There is recorded in the Recorders Office at Lancaster, Pa Record Book 'TT', Page 308, dated 12-22-1792, by which Henry Sheibly and Christian Wenger, C3, entered into an agreement with one Martin Myer, miller of Manheim Township, concerning use pf a dam, agreement dated 4-26-1798. Record Book 'D'-Vol 3, Page 281, established that Henry Sheibly and Christian Wenger were tenants in common of a tract of 178 acres in Warwick and Leacock Townships, whereon was situated a well, for the purpose of watering the meadows, and whereon they had erected a merchant corn, grist and saw mill. Christian Wenger referred to here, is the brother of Henry Sheibly's wife, Elizabeth Wenger. Henry Sheibly came to America with his parents when he was 7 years of age, and lived the remainder of his life in Lancaster County, Pa. Children were born to the 2nd union namely, Elizabeth, Nancy, Henry and Sarah Sheibly. Nancy or Anna Sheibly married David Myer, Sarah Sheibly married Martin Groff. Elizabeth (Wenger) Sheibly is buried with her husband Henry Sheibly and his second wife, Elizabeth (Miller) Sheibly, at the farm cemetery, across the road from the Zook Mill, formerly Bushong Mill, on the road to Oregon, Lancaster County, Pa.
