Notes for John Good and Magdalene Bowman

1777 John Good was born on March 18, near Bowmansville, son of Jacob Good and Magdalena. [1] [2] [3]

1783 Magdalena Bowman was born on January 9 at Bowman's Hill [4] [5] [6] in Berks County, Pennsylvania, daughter of Christian Bowman. [7] [8]

1800 John Good and Magdalena Bowman were married. [9] [10] [11]

1800 John Good lived in Brecknock Twp, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania in a household with males: 1 (26 thru 44); and females: 3 (under 10) and 1 (26 thru 44). [12]

1807 Estate records of Magdalena's father, Christian Bowman, in Cumru Twp, Berks County, Pennsylvania. named heirs including daughter Magdalena, married to John Good. [13] A distribution from his estate was made to John Guth intermarried with Mag'd. [14]

1810 John Goad, perhaps this John Good, lived in Brecknock Twp, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania in a household with males: 3 (under 10) and 1 (26 thru 44); and females: 1 (under 10) and 1 (26 thru 44). [15]

1813 John and Magdalene lived in Brecknock Twp, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. [16]

1818 John and Magdalena moved to Waterloo Canada in a Conestoga wagon and bought 188 acres of land. [17] [18] [19]

1851 John Good (age 75, born in USA) lived in Waterloo, Canada West (Ontario), Canada, in a household with wife Magdalin (age 70). Both were Mennonite. John Good was a yeoman. [20] The family of son Joseph Good was listed on the same page of the census.

1859 Magdalena Good died on March 22 and was buried at First Mennonite Cemetery, Waterloo County, Ontario, Canada. [21] [22] [23] [24]

1862 John Guth died on January 10 and was buried at First Mennonite Cemetery, Waterloo County, Ontario, Canada. [25] [26] [27] [28]

Magdalena Baumann, "eldest daughter of III Christian Baumann was born in Berks County, Pennsylvania on January 9th 1783 She was married to John Good in 1800 and in 1818 they moved to Canada and settled in Waterloo County north of the Town of Waterloo For more particulars see John Good's family [31]

John Good, "son of Jacob Good and grandson of II John Good was born near Bowmansville, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, March 18th 1777. In 1800 he was married to Magdalena, daughter of Christian Baumann, who lived in Berks County, Pennsylvania. He was a son of Christian Baumann and a grandson of old Wendel Baumann. Magdalena Baumann was born January 9th, 1783, and died March 22nd, 1859. He died January 10th, 1862. In 1818 they moved to Canada and purchased part of lot No 13, German Company's Tract about a mile north of the town of Waterloo. They had a family of six children."[32]
