We have gathered these notes for John Reber of Codorus Twp, York County, Pennsylvania as part of our search for the father of John Rivir, spouse of Mary Winebrenner. [1]

1750 John Reva received a warrant for 100 acres in Codorus Twp, York County, Pennsylvania. [2] A survey dated 1759 recorded 302 acres adjacent to lands of Adam Hoffman, John Rudisill, Jacob Bollinger, Adam Nace, Philip Stombach, Christian Ruble, Michael Miller, and John Rudisill. [3] Jonas Reva received a patent for the land dated November 16, 1809. [4] The tract of Ruble was formerly for Peter Rooble. [5] [6]

1763 Christina, daughter of Johannes and Catharina Reber, was baptized in August with sponsors Joh. Jacob and Christina Rudisill. [7] [8] [9]

Johannes and Maria Catherina have been named by unverified sources as the parents of the son John Reber, as shown here, although he was not named in Johannes's 1800 will.

1774 John Reber of Codorus Twp, York County, sold water rights to John Myer Sr. [10]

1783 John Reber was taxed in Codorus Twp, York County, Pennsylvania for 270 acres and 10 inhabitants. (PA Archives Series 3, Vol 17, p 705) [12]

1785 The will of Jacob Rudisere (perhaps Rudisill) was dated November 10, 1785 and was proved on January 10, 1787 in Manchester Twp, York County. Executor: Jacob Herback. Children: Jacob, Jonas, Philip, Baltzer, John, Henry, Catharine wife of John Rever, Elizabeth wife of Michael Ebech, Barbara wife of Godfrey Leib, Susanna wife of Andrew Smith, Dorothea wife of George Meyer and Mary wife of Andrew Ritter. The will named wife Catherine, daughters Christina (perhaps unmarried) and Elisabeth (and her unnamed children by her first marriage) and sons Jonas and Henry, and land in Codorus Twp adjacent to lands of Jacob Bollinger, Philip Schmick, Adam Ness, Christian Quickel, John Rudisily, and Adam Hoffman. 1800 Johannes Reber died on May 5 and was buried at Renoll Burial Grounds, North Codorus Township, York County, Pennsylvania. Johannes Reber was born in 1735. [27] [28]
