1846 Peter Brubaker and wife Catherine, Abraham Myers and wife Susan, Hartman and wife Barbara, Benjamin Newcomer and wife Nancy, Jacob Bechtel and wife Anna, Wm Kirchner and wife Elizabeth, Michael Gongaway and wife Catherine, John Moyer Jr, Christina Myers, Barbara Moyer, George Moyer, Harriet Moyer, Abraham Moyer minor heirs of Elizabeth Moyer by guardian John Moyer Jr, sold 33 acres to Mary Burke, on January 5, in section 27 of Milton Twp, Ashland/Richland County, Ohio. 1850 John and Catherine Moyer lived in Harrison Twp, Elkhart County, Indiana with children Barbary (age 20), George (age 17), Harriet (age 16), Abram (age 13), and Jacob (age 8). [3]

1850 Peter Newsbamer (age 23, born in O) lived in Harrison Twp, Elkhart County, Indiana, in a household with Chestian Newsbamer (age 51), Catharine Newsbamer (age 42), Catharine Newsbamer (age 16), Christena Newsbamer (age 14), Abram Newsbamer (age 12), Fanny Newsbamer (age 8), Barbary Newsbamer (age 6), and George Newsbamer (age 4). Peter Newsbamer was a carpenter. [4]

1850 Barbara Myers and Peter Nusbaum were married on November 28, 1850 in Elkhart County, Indiana. [5] [6]

1860 Peter Nusbaum (age 32) and Barbara (age 29) lived in Harrison Twp, Elkhart County with children Catharine A (age 10), Christian (age 7), John H (age 5), and George W (age 2). Samuel Nusbaum, born in Switzerland lived with them. [7][8]

1870 Peter Nusbaum (age 42) and Barbara (age 40) lived in Harrison Twp, Elkhart County, Indiana with children Christian (age 17), John (age 15), George (age 12), and Amanda (age 8) and with Catharine Moyer (age 12). [9] [10]

1880 Barbara Nusbaum (age 49, born in Ohio, married), wife, lived in Harrison Twp, Elkhart County, Indiana, in a household with Peter Nusbaum (age 52), John H. Nusbaum (age 25), George W. Nusbaum (age 22), and Amanda J. Nusbaum (age 18). Barbara Nusbaum's parents were both born in Pennsylvania. [11]

1890 Peter Nusbaum was listed at Harrison Wakarusa in the Elkhart, Indiana Directory, 1890. [12]

1900 Baraba Neusbaum (born in Ohio in Jun 1833, married for 45 years), wife, lived in Harrison Twp, Elkhart County, Indiana, in a household with Peter Neusbaum (age 69). Baraba Neusbaum's parents were both born in Ohio. Baraba Neusbaum had had 5 children, 5 still living. [13]

1900 Son John Nusbaum (born in Indiana in May 1855, married for 10 years) lived in Concord, Elkhart, Indiana, in a household with Jennie Nusbaum (age 41), Hattie Nusbaum (age 9), Harold Nusbaum (age 8), Warren Nusbaum (age 5), Forrest Nusbaum (age 3), and Wayne Nusbaum (age 1). John Nusbaum's parents were both born in Ohio. John Nusbaum was a architect. [14]

1906 Barbara Moyer Nusbaum died on August 1, 1906, at age 75y 11m 9d, and was buried at Yellow Creek Brick Cemetery, Southwest, Elkhart County, Indiana. [15] [16]

1906 An obituary for Barbara Nusbaum reports: "Mrs. Nusbaum Dead. Mrs. Barbara Nusbaem died at 2:10 o'clock this afternoon at her home 123 Garfield avenue, aged 76 years. She leaves a husband, Peter Nusbaum, and five children." [17] [18]

1906 An obituary for Barbara Moyer Nusbaum reported [19]:

Sister Barbara Moyer, wife of Brother Peter Nusbaum, was born in Ashland County, Ohio, Aug 10,1830, and died in Elkhart County, Indiana Aug 1, 1906, aged 75y. 11 m, 21 d. She suffered with stomach troubles for about a year, and during the past few months she fully realized that the end was drawing nigh. For about ten weeks she was not able to partake of any solid nourishment and gradually grew weaker until her strengh was exhausted. She was a faithful member of the Mennonite church for many years and her trust in the Lord was unwavering. She leaves a deeply sorrowing husband, three sons and two daughters, fourteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, also two brothers survive her. Bro. and Sister Nusbaum have lived together about fifty-six years and this was the first death in the family. All their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren are living. Funeral was held at the Yellow Creek Mennonite meeting-house, where services were conducted by George Lambert and John F. Funk fro Heb. 9.27.18. A very large concourse of people attended the funeral. May God comfort and bless the bereaved hearts who mourn her death, but they rejoice that they need not mourn as those who have no hope.

1906 A death notice for Barbara Moyer Nusbaum reported [20] [21]:

Mrs. Peter Nusbaum died yesterday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at her home in Elkhart, aged 76 years. She was an old resident of of Elkhart county, formerly living in Harrison township, but seven years ago removed to Elkhart. She is survived by her husband and five children: Mrs. Martin Overholt of near Kalamazoo, Mich.; Christian and John Nusbaum of Elkhart; Mrs. Henry Bechtel of Harrison township; and George Nusbaum just west of this city. David S. Bechtel of 518 South Seventh street is a nephew. The funeral will be held at the Yellow Creek church Saturday at 11:30 a. m. Interment will be at the same place.

1910 Peter Nusbaum (age 82, born in Indiana, widowed), boarder, lived in Harrison Twp, Elkhart County, Indiana, in a household with Henry Bechtel (age 64), daughter Mandy J Bechtel (age 48), Noah Fox (age 21), and Jessie Greenwolt (age 16). Peter Nusbaum's parents were both born in Ohio. Peter Nusbaum could not read or write. [22]

1914 Peter Nusbaum, widowed, son of Christian N. Nusbaum and Catharine Nusbaum, spouse of Barbara Nusbaum, died, at age 86, on July 15, 1914, in Elkhart County, Indiana. Peter Nusbaum was born, on August 10, 1827, in Ashland County, Ohio. [23]

1914 Peter Nusbaum died on July 15 and was buried at Yellow Creek Brick Cemetery, Elkhart County, Indiana. Peter Nusbaum was born in 1827. [25] [26]

1914 An obituary for Peter Nusbaum reported [27]:

Peter Nusbaum was born in Ashland County, Ohio, Aug. 10, 1827. He was a descendant of a well represented Swiss family who emigrated to this country many years ago. He came to Elkhart County, Indiana, some 65 years ago and was a resident of the county to the time of his death. He was united in marriage with Margaret Moyer. The fruits of this union were 3 sons and 2 daughters. There are also a number of grandchildren. Bro. Nusbaum was stricken with paralysis about a week before his death and calmly fell asleep in Jesus on Wednesday morning, July 15, 1914, at the advances age of 86 y. 11 m. 5 d. He became a member of the Mennonite Church in early life and manifested a consistent Christian spirit throughout. Through all the changes and vicissitudes of his life he stood firm and faithful to his profession. Our hearts are filled with sorrow because of his departure, but we feel confident that he has been gathered to his fathers in peace and that we may look forward with the assurance of meeting him where there is joy and fulness of joy at the right hand of God. He was buried on the 17th at the Yellow Creek Mennonite Church where appropriate services were conducted by John F. Funk and George Lambert from Jno. 14:2,3. His funeral was largely attended.

1914 Catherine Ann Overholt (daughter of Peter Nusbaum and Barbara Moyer) died on October 5, in Petoskey, Emmet County, Michigan. [28]

1916 Son Christian A Nusbaum died on December 19 and was buried at Prairie Street Cemetery, Elkhart County, Indiana. Christian A Nusbaum was born on July 19, 1853. [29] [30]

1936 Daughter-in-law Sarah E Ehret Nusbaum died on June 15 and was buried at Prairie Street Cemetery, Elkhart County, Indiana. Sarah E Ehret Nusbaum was born on December 18, 1855. [31] [32]

1961 Grandson Ralph Orestus Nusbaum died on June 21 and was buried at Oakwood Cemetery, Kosciusko County, Indiana. Ralph Orestus Nusbaum was born on January 9, 1885. [33] [34]

1963 Grandson Wayne Woodford Nusbaum died on January 23 and was buried at Rice Cemetery, Elkhart County, Indiana. Wayne Woodford Nusbaum was born on February 26, 1899. [35] [36]

1988 Great-grandson James K Nusbaum, married, died on November 28, at age 63, in South Bend, St Joseph County, Indiana. He was born on May 7, 1925, in Elkhart, Indiana, son of Wayne W Nusbaum and Helen Slaughter. [37]

2009 Great-grandson Roger Frederick Nusbaum died on July 5 and was buried at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Sangamon County, Illinois. Roger Frederick Nusbaum was born on February 6, 1919. [38] [39]
