1885 Alexander R. Brown declared his intention to become a citizen of the United States on June 24. [1]

1888 Edward A. Reinhart and Minnie L. Lemmerz were married on June 8 in Jersey City, Hudson County, New Jersey. [2]

1888 Alexander R. Brown applied for citizenship and was naturalized as a citizen in the United States on October 10. [3]

1889 Edward A. Reinhart (age 27) died on May 9 in Jersey City, Hudson County, New Jersey. [4]

1891 and 1893 "Reinhard Minnie L, wid Edward A, music teacher, 622 Pavonia av" was listed in the Jersey City, New Jersey, City Directory. [5] [6]

1896 Alexander Brown and Minnie L. "Lemmery" (age 32) were married on January 1 in Jersey City, Hudson County, New Jersey. [7]

1899 The Jersey City, New Jersey, City Directory, 1899 listed "Brown Alexander R, architect, 143 Magnolia av." [8] Minnie's brother, "Lemmerz Theo H, physician" was listed at the same address, "143 Magnolia av." [9] Minnie and Theodore's father was listed as "Lemmerz Theo, wines, 167 Magnolia av."

1900 On June 18, Alexander R. (age 54, born Aug 1845) and Minnie L. (age 36, born October 1863) lived at 143 Magnolia Avenue in Jersey City Ward 10, Hudson County, New Jersey. Minnie's brother Theodore Lemmertz (age 19, born October 1870) lived at the same address. He was a physician. Minnie and Theodore's father was a boarder in a household on the same street. Alexander and his parents were born in Scotland. Minnie and Theodore were born in New York and their parents were born in Germany. Alexander was a wood worker. He immigrated in 1884. Alexander and Minnie had been married 4 years. [10]

1901 The Jersey City, New Jersey, City Directory, 1901 listed "Brown Alexander R, architect, 143 Magnolia av." [11] Minnie's brother, "Lemmerz Theo H, physician" was listed at the same address, "143 Magnolia av." [12] Minnie and Theodore's father was listed as "Lemmers Theo, wines, 167 Magnolia av."

1909 Alexander R. Brown wrote his will on December 13. [13]

In the Name of God, Amen. I Alexander R. Brown of the City, County and State of New Yoek, being now in good health, strength of body and mind, but sensible of the uncertainty of life, and desiring to make disposition of my property and affairs while in health and strength, do herebh make and declare the following to be my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking and cancelling all other or former wills by me at any time made.
Article First: I direct the payment of my just debts and funeral expenses.
Article Second: I devise and bequeath the whole of my property, real, personal and mixed wherever situated to my beloved wife, Minnie R. Brown to have and to hold for life.
Article Third: I devise and bequeath the entire remainder of my property real person and mixed to my Trustees hereinafter named, in trust nevertheless as follows:
Article Fourth: I desire that the said Trustees shal manage the property after my wife's death and devote the income thereof to the support and education of my daughter Jane Robertson Brown until she is twenty one years of age, then I desire my Trustees to pay eitht tenths of the said trust fund to my said daughter.
I further request my said trustees as soon as my daughter is twenty one years of age to pay one tenth of said trust fund to the American Baptist Home Mission Society at present located at 312 Fourth Avenue, New York City; and also at said time to pay the remaining one tenth of said fund to the Women's Baptist Foreign Missionary Society at present located at Tremont Temple, Boston, Mass.
Article Fifth: I hereby constitute and appoint Doctor Theodore H. Lemmerz of Jersy City, New Jersey, and Robert J. Randall of Mount Tabor, N.J. as Executors and Trustees of this my last Will and Testament, and I request that the said Executors shall be allowed to qualify and serve as Executors and Trustees of and under this my last Will and Testament, either in the State of New York or elsewhere, without giving bonds or security.
In Witness Whereof I have herein to set my hand and seal this 13th day of December, 1909.

1910 On April 26, Alexander R. Brown (age 56) and his wife Minnie R. Brown (age 46) lived at 2418 Butler Place in Bronx Assembly District 32, Bronx, New York, with their daughter Jane R. Brown (age 9). Minnie had had 2 children and 1 was living. Alexander and Minnie had been married 15 years. Alexander and his parents were born in Scotland. Minnie was born in New York and her parents were born in Germany. Alexander immigrated in 1882 and he was naturalized. He was a contractor in the builder industry. Alexander and Minnie owned their home with no mortgage. [14]

1911 The will of Alexander R. Brown was proved on December 29. [15]

1915 On June 1, Minnie R. Brown (age 50), widow, lived at 2418 Butler Place in Bronx, New York, with her daughter Jean (age 14). [16]

1920 On January 29, Minnie Brown (age 56) lived at 2418 Butler Place in Bronx Assembly District 6, Bronx, New York, with her daughters Jean R. (age 19) and Minnie (age 16). The elder Minnie was born in New York. She was a widow and her occupation was music teacher. Her parents were born in Germany. The children were born in New York. Jean R. was a stenographer. Minnie owned her home with no mortgage. [17]

1930 On April 23, Minnie R. Brown (age 66), widow, lived at 32 Jefferson Avenue, White Plains, Westchester, New York. She was a music teacher. Her age at first marriage was 32. She was born in New York, her father was born in Cologne, Germany, and her mother was born in Germany. [18]
