1910 On April 18, Julius E Chevelley (age 34, born in Switzerland, married for 5 years) lived in Islip Twp, Suffolk County, New York, in a household with wife Mary (age 35), son Rennie J (age 3), daughter Eugenie (age 1 8/12), and servants Margaret A Colbert (age 25), Smith D Horn (age 24), and Joseph Ryan (age 47). Julius' parents were both born in Switzerland. He could read and write. His occupation was florist, Green House, employer. He immigrated in 1901 and was a naturalized citizen. [1]

1944 Mary Duffin Chevalley died on November 23 and was buried at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Coram, Suffolk County, New York. [2]. An obituary states,

Obituary - Bay Shore, November 24- Mrs. Mary Chevalley, 65, of Montauk Highway, Blue Point, died yesterday in Southside Hospital here from injuires received Wednesday night when struck by an automobile near her home. She was the wife of Julius Chevalley, a wholesale florist.

A native of Ireland, Mrs. Chevalley had lived in Blue Point for 42 years. Besides her husband, she leaves two daughters, Mrs. P.V. Brinley, of Patchogue and Mrs. Eugenie Schott of Blue Point; a son, Rene of Blue Point, and two sisters, Mrs. Anna Lamude of Chappaqua, N.Y., and Elizabeth Duffin of New Canaan, Conn.

The funeral will be held Monday with a requiem mass at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Snow R.C. Church, Blue Point. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Coram.

1959 Julius Adrian Chevalley died on December 10 in East Patchogue, Suffolk County, New York. [3] An obituary states,

Julius A. Chevalley, of North Ocean Avenue, Patchogue, died last Thursday in Brookhaven Memorial Hospital. Mr. Chevalley was born in Switzerland 84 years ago, but had lived in this vicinity for 50 years, most of that time in his home on Montauk Highway, Blue Point. He had large greenhouses there and for many years was prominent in the wholesale flower business. His son, Rene, now heads the firm of Chevalley's Greenhouses.

He was a life member of the New York Florists Club and a former member of the Suwasset Chapter of Southside Masonic Lodge, Patchogue Commandery, and of Kismet Temple, Brooklyn.

Mr. Chevalley leaves his son, two daughters, Mrs. Natalie Brinley of Patchogue, and Mrs. Eugenie Schott of Blue Point, seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Sunday in the Ruland Funeral Home in Patchogue, with the Rev. Lammert Redelfs, pastor of the Lutheran Church of Our Savior, in Patchogue, officiating.
