1829 Catherine Matilda Schooley, daughter of Benjamin and Ann Schooley, was born in 1830 (no month or date specified), as recorded in Trenton, New Jersey Quaker records. [1] Cincinnati Meeting records report her birthdate on June 3, 1829. [2]

1837 Benjamin Schooley, Ann K Schooley and 9 minor children (Samuel I, James K, Sarah C, Rebecca Ann, Elizabeth, Mary, Catharine Matilda, Benjamin, and Robert H Schooley) transferred from Chesterfield meeting, New Jersey, to Cincinnati, Ohio [date 1837,4,4]. [3] [4] [5] [6] [7]

1848 Joseph Lattin and Catharine Schooly were married on September 24, in Hamilton County, Ohio. [8] [9] [10] [11]

1850 Joseph Latton (age 24) and Catharine Latton (age 20) lived in Dublin Twp, Wayne County, Indiana with child Oliver A (age 6/12, August census). They lived in the household of Moses Detrich. John and James Latton lived with them. [12] [13] [14]

1852 Catharine Lattin, formerly Schooley, was listed as married contrary to discipline of the Quakers on March 18. [15]

1860 Joseph S Lattin (age 35, born in Ohio) lived in Jackson Twp, Darke County, Ohio, in a household with Catharine Lattin (age 29), Alonzo Lattin (age 10), Madorah Lattin (age 8), James S Lattin (age 6), Mary L Lattin (age 3), and Eliza Lattin (age 3). Joseph S Lattin's occupation was farmer. [16] [17]

1860 Joseph S Lattin was listed on the agriculture census in Darke County, Ohio. [18]

1863 Joseph S latten (age 39) registered for the draft in Darke County, Ohio. Joseph was a farmer. [19]

1870 Jos. S Lattin purchased land from Wm Runnells in Cedar County, Missouri. [20] Based on the deed index, this was the first deed granted to Lattin in Cedar County. [21]

1870 Joseph B Lattin (age 51, born in Ohio) lived in Box Twp, Cedar County, Missouri, in a household with Catharine Lattin (age 42), Olivar A Lattin (age 20), Medora A Lattin (age 18), James S Lattin (age 16), Mary M Lattin (age 13), Eliza S Lattin (age 11), Elisabeth Lattin (age 6), and Sarah Lattin (age 2). Catharine Lattin (born NJ), Son Oliver Lattin (age 20) was born in Indiana. Children, ages 6 to 18, were born in Ohio. [22] [23] [24]

1873 Letters of administration were issued on January 28 to Charles Elliott for the estate of Joseph S Latin in Cedar County, Missouri. [25] Charles C. Elliott was appointed administrator for the estate of Joseph S Latin on February 3. [26] [27] The estate was awarded to the [unnamed] widow. [28] Catharine M Lattin was named as the widow. [29]

1879 Land of C. Lattin was shown in section 13 of Box Twp, Cedar County, Missouri. Perhaps this was widow Catherine Lattin. [30] A map dated 1897 showed the same tract owned by Lattin heirs. [31]

1880 Catherine Lattin (age 50, born in New Jersey), widow, lived in Darke County, Ohio with children Oliver Lattin (age 30), Eliza Lattin (age 20), and Sarah Lattin (age 12), near her nephew-in-law Charles T Pickett. Eliza (age 20) worked in a cigar factory. [32] [33]

1889 Handley W. Hatfield, age 23, and Sadie Latten, age 22, were married on October 23 in Anaconda, Deer Lodge County, Montana. Handley W. Hatfield, child of Reuben Hatfield and Caroline Peltis, was born in Port Grevilla, Nova Scotia. Sadie Latten, child of Joseph Lattin and Catherine Schooley, was reported born in Dayton, Ohio. 1891 Ansel P. Spaulding, age 41, and Lida Lattin, age 32, were married on November 8 in Missoula County, Montana. Ansel P. Spaulding, son of Alexander Spaulding and Jane Manley, was born in Swanton/Ohio. Lida Lattin, daughter of Joseph Lattin and Catharine Schooley, was born in Union City, Darke County, Ohio. [36] [37]

1897 The unknown heirs of Joseph Lattin, deceased, were mentioned in a newspaper notice in Cedar County, Missouri. Perhaps widow Catherine had died by this time. (see the 1879 and 1897 maps cited above)


1897 Heirs of Joseph Lattin were notified about land in Cedar County, Missouri.

1900 Oliver A Lattin was a lodger, unmarried, in Madison, Jay County, Indiana. Birthplaces all match. [39]
