1794 Edward Hatfield and Elizabeth Hoover were married, on February 1, in Frederick County, Virginia. [1]

1795 Isaac Hatfield, son of Edward Hatfield, was born on October 28. Martin Schneider and wife were sponsors at his baptism on March 6, 1796, at Peaked Mountain Church, Rockingham County, Virginia. [2] [3] [4]

1810 Edward Hatfield lived in New Haven Twp, Rockingham County, Virginia. The household had 4 young male children (from his marriage to Elizabeth Hoover). [5] [6] Julian was listed with her father Sanders Reed on the next page of the census, in the same township.

1813 Edward Hatfield and Julian Reed were married in Rockingham County, Virginia. Julian's father, Sanders Reed, signed the marriage certificate surety was given by Henry Pirkey. 1820 Edward Hatfield lived in Rockingham County, Virginia. The household had 1M age 10-15 (perhaps Andrew), 2M age 16-25 (Abraham and Jacob), 1M age 45+, 2 F age <10 (two daughters by Julian), and 1 F age 16-26 (Julian). [10] [11]

1822 Edward Hatfield signed the marriage bond of Jacob Hatfield and Sarah Utzler.

1830 Edward Hatfield (age 50-60) lived in Greenfield Twp, Fairfield County, Ohio with wife age 30-40 and a daughter age 10-15 (perhaps one daughter had died or married). Note that Julian's father Sanders Reed also lived in Fairfield County, Ohio at this time, listed on the same page as (son?) Jacob Hatfield (age 20-30), so this is a possible match. [12] [13]

1840 Jacob Hatfield Senior (age 60-70) lived in Pike County, Ohio with female (age 50-60) and 3 males (age 0-10). The adjacent listing was for childless John Hatfield and wife, both age 30-40. Note that the ages of the household match the 1850 listing for Edward in the census. Could Jacob Sr be a listing error for Edward Hatfield? [14] [15] [16]

1850 Edward (age 80, born Va?) and Juliet [sic] (age 54, born Va?) Hatfield lived in Jackson Twp, Pike County, Ohio with children Samuel (age 23), George W (age 18) and Isaac N (age 11). [17] [18]

1864 Pvt George Hatfield died on August 11 at Andersonville National Historic Site, Macon County, Georgia and was buried at Andersonville National Cemetery, Andersonville National Historic Site, Macon County, Georgia. Pvt George Hatfield was born in 1832. [19] [20]

1879 Isaac N. Hatfield, son of Edward Hatfield and Reed, married Elizabeth Hunt Bonner on September 15, 1879 in Marion County, Illinois. [21] [22]

Research Notes:

Both Edward Hatfield and his son Abraham Hatfield had sons named Isaac born about 1838. There were also two Isaac Newton Hatfields, one son of Gabriel, born 1893, and one son of Morgan, born 1843.

1860 Isaac B Hatfield (age 23, born in Ohio) lived in Green Twp, Grant County, Indiana, in a household with Amanda E Hatfield (age 22), and J P Hatfield (age 8/12). [23]

1880 Isaac B . Hatfield (age 45, born in Ohio, married) lived in Union Twp, Saunders County, Nebraska, in a household with Isaac B. Hatfield (age 45), Amanda M. Hatfield (age 42), Jay P. Hatfield (age 20), Edwin E. Hatfield (age 14), Effie E. Hatfield (age 9), and Carrie D. Hatfield (age 5). Isaac B . Hatfield's father was born in Virginia and his mother was born in Ohio. Isaac B . Hatfield's occupation was farmer. [24]

1850 Morgan Hatfield (age 30, born in Ohio) lived in Washington Twp, Montgomery County, Ohio, in a household with Maria Hatfield (age 27), and Isaac Hatfield (age 6). [25]

1860 Morgan Hatfield (age 41, born in Ohio) lived in Washington Twp, Montgomery County, Ohio, in a household with Mary E Hatfield (age 25), Isaac Hatfield (age 17), Semantha Hatfield (age 7), James M Hatfield (age 4), Mary B Hatfield (age 2), Eliza Hatfield (age 4/12), Nicholas Morgan (age 21), Laex Brady (age 22), Catharine Speelman (age 25), and Dennis Speelman (age 4/12). 1870 Isaac Hatfield (age 26, born in Ohio) lived in Washington Twp, Montgomery County, Ohio, in a household with Lydia Hatfield (age 30), James Hatfield (age 14), and Eliza Hatfield (age 10). Isaac Hatfield's occupation was farm laborer. [27]

1911 Isaac Newton Hatfield died 06 Oct 1911 at Wayne Twp, Warren County, Ohio. Birth Date: 15 Nov 1843 at Montgomery County, Ohio. Death Age: 68 years 10 months 21 days. Father's Name: Morgan Hatfield, born Montgomery County, Ohio. Mother's Name: Maria Sears born Montgomery County, Ohio. [28]

1790 Edward Hatfield was taxed in Southampton County, Virginia. Southampton is near the Carolina border, not close to Rockingham or Fairfax counties, so this is a poor match to the Reed family. [29]

1800 Edward Hatfield was taxed in Southampton County, Virginia. [30]

1800 Edward Hatfield was taxed in Hampshire County, Virginia. [31]
